Bishop
Mariamna
Alivia

As Bishop is a common surname, and some families use surnames as first names, this doesn't sound that odd to me.

I assume that it's used in this way, but because "Bishop" is also a title, it ends up sounding... odd. What if Bishop were to become a bishop? Would it be like Major Major Major Major from Catch-22?

I know Bishop is a surname, but now that I think of it, I don't think I've ever met somebody with that surname in my life... Or first name for that matter.

Joey Bishop? or am I dating myself?

Came across a man named Audwin today.

Audwin is a real name, of Germanic origin. Not terribly common, I suspect.
I do what I do, because it's right! Because it's decent! And above all, it's kind. It's just that. Just kind.

I knew a Sergeant Sargent when I worked for the Air Force.  She worked on the surgical floor.

There is a company I go by sometimes named Audley. My brain always says, Audley Enough when I see the sign.

University magazine listed the names of alumni who have passed away this year.  Among them were:

Anet
Apolonia
Artemis
Edelvaise
Euphrasia
Frimi
Priscille

All of these were back in the 1920s and 1930s when we were a women's only college.

Glad you asked.  I wondered that too.  I thought maybe they were BORN in the 20's and 30's and even then they'd be really old!   :-\

At least Artemis appears to have been spelled in the expected manner for English speakers...just an unusual name for the era, I suppose.

I was wondering what was odd about this name and realized it might be pronounced "Camilla." I know it as "Ka'-muh-lah."

I know a Camilla, it is such a pretty name. I believe I came across a Cameo on the court shows today but didn't catch the spelling.

I saw yesterday where someone was celebrating her twin's bday, Klay & Kleet. At first I thought she must be using nicknames but some realized those were the actual names. The use of K for Clay was trendy when they were named but Kleet is a complete new one for me.
