Well, I'm in Louisiana so Beau is a very appropriate name for a boy in this area.  In fact, I've been getting advice to add an X to the end to make it more cajun and less French.   ::) :P

I thought about Belle, but we already have an Isabelle in our family and almost everyone calls her Belle.  I'm holding out for Annabelle Lee, but my DH doesn't like it and he didn't even know about the poem when I suggested it.  We're 95% certain its going to be a boy though.  Maybe he'll turn around at our next ultrasound appointment and we can know for sure!

Wouldn't that make him plural?

Does anyone remember "LadyHawke" with Rutger Hauer and Michelle Pfeiffer?  The female character's name was Isabeau.

I went to high school with a girl named Isabeau. It's an established variant of Isabel and Beau could be a nickname.

And it's not a new made-up name -- it dates to at least 1370.

That I did not remember, but I keep thinking of an old Golden Girls episode.  Blanche is telling Rose about her old friend Anderbeau Johnson.

Blanche: I lost Anderbeau and her beau.  Now do you understand why I can't tell Dorothy?
Rose:  I don't even know who Anderbobo is!

It would indeed make it plural which is what I've been telling everyone who tells me that.

"Beau" is how it'd be spelled. "Beaux" is plural.

That's what I kept thinking.  Well, we found out Friday that it is officially a boy!  So Beau it is.

Just saw an article about parents who apparently love Twitter a little too much. Baby boy Hashtag Jameson.

I just saw that headline this morning, but I thought it was a girl.

The little bit I read said that the parents announced the birth and name via Facebook. How ironic. That poor child. I hope it's a joke or typo or something. HuffPost had a humorous list of questions for the parents; my favorite was #4 Will she only be able to speak in 140-character phrases?

Parents like that put the "twit" in Twitter.
