I met another baby Jaxon today (pronounced Jackson) I guess the X makes it much cooler. Although I did meet one that was Jaxxon. Because a double X is even cooler than a single.
I actually like the name Jaxon. It looks cool and, more importantly, the spelling makes sense.

At least "Jaxon" is pronounced how you think it should be pronounced.

True. And if it continues to be popular, won't be a spelling hassle either.

It might still be. Think of Bryan/Brian, Stephen/Steven, Catherine/Kathryn, etc.  People with those names always have to spell them out.

And deal with people telling them they don't know what they're talking about. *glowers back at first grade teacher*

I saw the name Shalaya on a school billboard. I really like it.
Bich, on the other hand, not so much. I am sure it is not pronounced how it looks like it might be, but it is still a heck of a name for a kid in the US to grow up having.

I'm acquainted with an Isabella James Lastname - also a young lady. It just works somehow, though.

Stanley Ann Dunham?
My cousin's memoir of love and loneliness while raising a child with multiple disabilities will be out on Amazon soon! Know the Night, by Maria Mutch, has been called "full of hope, light, and companionship for surviving the small hours of the night."

From the complete opposite side of the "you're kidding" spectrum:

Some of the names mentioned in here make me roll my eyes, but "not a proper feminine name?" Seriously?

I assume that Icelandic laws for names are similar to Finnish and one rule is that the name has to be gender-appropriate. It used to be that there were only very few gender-neutral names (two in the name day calendar) but in recent years there have been a lot of new names, similar to the "gentle breeze" that are difficult to categorize. Like Tuisku (a snow flurry), is that male or female?

But even recognized names can be ODD  I met a toddler today with the first and last name of Henrietta Henry. It just does not seem to be quite "right"

Yeh, I'm a supporter of unusual names, but I have to admit that while a lovely latin name that apparently enjoys some use in the Hispanic community- as a medical person I cringed at the thought of calling a daughter Candida. I saw it on a tv show credits and just thought....no, not for me.

I don't know the history of this name, and truly mean no offense to anyone, but to me it sounds like a brand of dog/cat food.
