Demon.  Pronounced Demahn.  Could be worse, it just has an unfortunate spelling.

I am reminded of a cartoon I used to watch years ago. "My client was Victor Demann." "I always knew you were working for DeMann!!!"
You are only young once. After that you have to think up some other excuse.

It's been reported that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West named their baby North making her full name......North West.  Just when I believe I can't think less of them, they always top themselves.

You know what's funny?  When I found out that that was the real name and not a lame late night joke... I couldn't help but think how boring a name that is.  Here they had such an opportunity to go big (given the certainty of coverage of everything they do ever) and that's what they came up with?  It reaches for originality but ultimately lacks imagination and interest, IMHO.  Now if the baby's middle name was Bynorth...   ;)

LOL, I was thinking the same thing when I heard it, I thought no, that can't be it, it has to be something more dramatic..but umm no - North they went  :)

Busy Phillips (actress on Cougartown and I think McKensie's sister (step perhaps) - just had another baby girl..

now the first girl they named....Birdie (middle name Leigh) -

the new baby - Cricket (middle name Pearl)

I guess they like nature  :)

There is a 14-year-old Braden in my family.  At the time, his mother had never heard the name before I used it in one of my books for a very minor character.  Nor had I. I got it from a baby-name book printed sometime in the 1930s.   She thought it would be something distinctive without being weird, bu it was the leading edge of the wave; within 5 years there were little Bradens everywhere.  Caden, Jaeden, et al were the next set.

A woman at the store named.... Jami.

I'm guessing that might just be a different spelling of Jamie.  Maybe?

I went to see Despicable Me 2 the other day. In amongst all the other children was a little boy named Maverick. I know this because his father not only had a voice that carried but was also disabled, so he was using Maverick to shepard the two younger children to the right seats ("Maverick, stop. Go back one row. Yes that row. Now go in, keep going, keep going. Stop. Sit! Maverick, put your snacks down and come back up here") while the father worked his way slowly down the stairs to the seats.

I have to say that Maverick did not in anyway live up to his name, but was a polite, obedient sweet little boy. I didn't hear what his two younger siblings were named, because they were all so well behaved they didn't have to get spoken to by their father at all.
