Boy did I into a cutie pie today.

I was out at a Jo-Ann Fabrics today to pick up sewing machine part for Mom, When I feel this little pat on my leg.

I look down and there is a little boy and girl in a twin stroller, and he wanted to know where was my little boy and girl, if I was buying things for my little boy. I told him that I didn't have a little boy, he asked why. Oh boy! I told him that I wasn't lucky enough to have one. (not that I am planning one anytime soon)

Then he wanted to know what I was doing.

I told him that I was helping Santa get everything ready for Christmas. Boy did that make their eyes pop.

Mom (I think, anymore it's hard to tell) was right there just spliting with pent up giggles. Oh to have to ruin that inocent trust of being able to talk to anyone.

He was just so cute

Awwwww....that was really sweet of you to talk to him and to be so nice to him.   I have a little "socialite" like that too and am always so grateful when complete strangers take the time to answer his questions like you did for that little boy today.

Too many people get rude and grumpy this tiime of year, what with parties and shopping and all that. 

That we forget the little things, like making kids happy. and it doesn't take much, what did I spend 2 -3 minutes talking to him.

and he really did make my day too.

I was at the WalMart in line with my little man to see Santa. He was asking me a jillion questions about Santa and I was answering them as best I can. Fortunately I can lie like a bandit on the spot (and my parents said that talent would never come in handy ) and was covering my bases pretty well. There was a woman and man in line in front of me with their kids and they were laughing so hard behind their hands I thought they were going to fall into the dairy case.
I get a kick out of garolous little ones. I think I would have taken that one home!

Ha!! I love little kids.

I was at Harry and David's a few weeks ago when a little boy of about 2 came barrelling around a corner and stopped short to find me standing in his way (dad was right behinf him). He was adorable. I smiled my biggest smile and said "Hi!" In return, he gave me his biggest smile and wrapped his little arms around my legs in a hug. too cute!

heh.. I wish I had that affect on the older variety ;-)

Yeah back in the Jurassic Era (early 80's) I used to go roller skating every weekend. The Disco skate was popular back then and I had a pair of velvet pants and a gold lame glitter top (boy was I fashionable <giggle>)

One night I was standing around chatting with some guys. (did that more than skating BTW) I feel a hand run up the back of my leg and up my butt !! Turned around, didn't see anyone, looked down and there was this little boy saying "They're fuzzy" 

The guy that I was with Just. Lost. It.  One of the other ones told me that he wished he was little so that he could get away with feeling girls butts like that. (didn't know him well enough or I might have offered my butt to him to feel)

This time of year going to stores makes me crazy.  They are just full of people who are so rude that I feel like I am going to have a fit of rage.  And then there are the kids screaming and acting like pains.  when I come accross a child like the one you did I always stop and act as sweet as sugar.  the reason, Life will take that sweet innocent away soon enough and you have to enjoy it while it last.  In no time at all the are pushig and shoving because they learn that is how the rest of the world works.

Can you tell i feel beat up by the season.

No, I never feel like shooing a child away. I don't have any of my own, so I have to get my "little hugs" wherever I can.

And he was looking up at me with such a sweet open look, that you would have just melted.
For awhile he was holding my hand. till I told him that I had to get going because Santa had a lot of things for me to do today.

As a mom to a sweet little boy, I'm always afraid that his chattering bothers others.  I'm always grateful to those who chat back and he gets so excited about an adult talking to him like an adult, his smile just lits up the room.

I never ever talk to a child in a sugery gushy baby talk.  I hate when people do that.  It's no wonder there are children who start kindergarden and can't be understood. (of course when they are "new" you can boo-boo, goo-ga at them without too much harm)

In fact I have baby cousins (under 10's) who use words that a lot of adults can't use correctly, because their parents never changed their language patterns for the baby.  They ask what some words mean but later I hear them using it correctly. (we have a lot of smart people in our family. I sometimes don't think I really belong, but family pics prove otherwise.)
