Kitkatswing, I agree, you really did look fantastic in that picture - glasses and all!

My parents both told me, when I asked, that they don't think I should wear my glasses.  Neither of them could quite give me a reason, though, so I'm not sure how much weight I'll give their respective opinions.

It has occurred to me that it would be a bad idea for me to be anywhere without my glasses, for the same reason it's a bad idea for me to be anywhere without my driver's license or a bit of cash - if I needed to drive, my glasses are as important as the license.  Not that I'm expecting to drive or anything, but I'll probably want to have them with me even if I'm not wearing them.

Which, of course, means that I can decide on the day of, if I want to. Smiley

I've been wearing glasses since I was like 8, and contacts for high school and college.  My eyesight is fairly bad, so my lenses are big and thick.  In fact, they're thicker than my frames!  Due to their size, I have lovely red marks on either side of my nose from the weight of my glasses...

Now, I used to take my glasses off for pictures when I was younger, but I realized it didn't really matter to me, so as an adult, I always wore them in pictures, unless I was like in the pool or something.  My mom thought I'd take off my glasses for the wedding pictures, but I told her that was impossible, even if I wanted to, because of the red marks on my nose.

I had anti-reflection on my glasses, so there wouldn't be glare.  And I've been wearing purple/pink frames for ages, so they matched the wedding colors...   Grin

So, yes, I wore my glasses, and didn't regret it.

If you have an outdoor wedding and wear transition lenses, the photos will look a wee bit strange.

I wore mine.  I've had glasses as long as I can remember and my bridesmaids told me I had to wear them on my wedding day.  They said I wouldn't look like me if I didn't have them.

I will wear mine, and as I have a prescription that costs as much as a cheap wedding dress (if it doesn't get worse in the next nearly 2 years), I will wear whatever glasses I have at the time, even if they're transitions (as my current ones are).  I've been wearing glasses since I was 6, it's far too late to stop now.  Besides, I can't see anything without them!

Well, I've never been married, but I can tell you about my experience at my brother's wedding.

I was a bridesmaid and was asked by my mother not to wear my glasses for photo purposes.  Unfortunately, I had moved a few months before and due to my job had not had the time to get new contact lenses (one of my old ones had torn and so they were not wearable).  So I went without correcting my nearsightedness that day.

I expect to wear my contact lenses if and when I ever marry to my wedding, but I would never tell anyone not to wear their glasses, for photo or any other purposes.

I actually can't recall if my husband wore his glasses on our wedding day. He looks so natural both with and without his glasses, it's hard to remember if he wears them. He never wears them around the house (and is therefore always misplacing them Wink ), but he always wears them at work and while driving.

Unlike me, he can actually see without his glasses on.

I would absolutely refuse this request!! My eyesight is so terrible that, without my glasses, I would be a danger to everyone (including myself) and wouldn't even be able to look at the photographer; and you would be able to tell that my eyes were horribly unfocused... I go a little cross-eyed because I can't see anything at all. Contacts would not be an option, either, for medical reasons.

And, in answer to the thread: Yes, I am wearing my glasses on my wedding day.
