Rowena quickly jerked her skirt away from Dexter, snapping at her daughter to control her cat.

Dexter chuckled to himself and he slunk behind the sofa, finding the perfect position to wait and pounce when the moment was right.

Rowena huffed and said, "You never did have a lick of sense, did you?"

That comment reminded Dexter to wash his forelegs, knowing it is important for a kung-fu kitty to keep his killer claws well-groomed after an attack.

Dexter's owner hissed at Rowena, "Mother, you've been saying that to me for years, and I'm tired of hearing it!"

Having heard enough, Dexter leapt to the back of the sofa and then to Rowena's head, taking her wig with him.

Even her daughter had no idea that what little hair Rowena had left was brittle and like yellow straw.

Screaming at the top of her lungs, Rowena clapped her hands over the three pitiful hairs growing out of her scalp, and kicked Dexter in the head.

Dexter hissed, growled, and launched himself at Rowena, all claws and teeth.

His owner looked at Dexter in surprise and said, "How did you do that I've been trying to make her disappear for years!"

"Heck if I know!" said a surprised Dexter, who had never before missed his quarry.

Dexter yowled as he attempted to recover well enough to accomplish the stereotypical 4-footed landing.
