No, its not rude.  They're pictures, they're not original poetry or artwork or something like that.

Photographs most certainly are artworks and, as such, have the same protections as other artworks.

Only to the photographer that took them originally.  That's not the case here. 

Not necessarily. I bought the images from my wedding from the photographer and all rights to copy and distribute them. Part of our contract says they can keep some for portfolio use but they can't make money off of them or spread them around, as I am now the owner of the images.

I PAID for the rights to those pictures, and they are MINE. Putting them on Facebook does not negate that.

Putting pictures on Facebook does not negate your ownership of them. But given the culture of Facebook, you are implying that you don't mind if people take/distribute/use them. If you don't want to imply that, don't put them on Facebook.
