:o wow! wait until you have to find bigger ones next christmas lol
the $90 skates do make sense like everyone else said--they figured that they would be a larger market for the kids ones.
this happens a lot at 2nd hand sports-type stores----I ride horses and at the tack shop I frequent for it's second-hand selection the kids/smaller womens sizes for boots & clothes are VASTLY more expensive than the larger women's sizes and men's (lucky for me!). I got boots once for $30 (men's 12 or so? a size or so bigger than I usually wear but I ride in really thick socks)---the same brand/style in kids we close to $80(!!)

Figure skates are even worse...some of the kids that are more advanced are into separate boots and blades...as you get more skilled, you have to buy them separate.  Some of the older girls, their parents spend close to $700-900 bucks on their skates!  Mine were like $550 (new boots and separate blades) and I'm getting all the mileage out of them that I can!

Of course when it's time for new boots, I can use the same blades, so that will help.

I have to tell you, as a wife to a 6'4" man, that size 12 isn't all that big.  Every store carries shoes up through size 12 and usually 13.  When you get to size 14, it is more difficult!

I feel your pain... My Hubby is 6'5"  wears a size 13 shoe.... but the hardest part is finding jeans in a size 36x38!   Plenty of 38x36, or 36x34.... but 36x38 is so hard to find.   Also finding shirts with long enough sleeves is a challenge.   It can be done.... and I adore lands end.... but it is a shopping challenge for sure.

Hey! Get away from my husband!!
Mine is six seven and we have to get 38-38 pants and a size fourteen shoe, thank God for the Nike outlet...and he weighs like 220 soaking wet so all his shirts with long enough sleeves look like boatsails in the body...
I have finally found the bar I can't get thrown out of....
