If I am posting a picture of myself in facebook, and there are other people in the picture, should I ask their permission to use the picture?

Some of the people (ie my parents) haven't heard of facebook. Another picture is a group photo from a coworkers wedding.
There are about 20 of us in the pic. Some have moved on, others are on facebook and could very well see the pic.

Well, to be honest, I would probably ask if the picture looks very personal, as in you and your parents, or something like that.

For a bigger group picture, like at someone's wedding, I would post it, BUT I would delete it or blur someone's face if the person was opposed to it.

I think it depends on who is in the photos.  I have friends who post photos with me in them, and while I'm not thrilled as I am very private, i will untag myself from them.  I am very private, and am not comfortable with my friend's 300+ friends being able to view me in pictures...but that's the way it is.  So I have no problems posting photos with those friends in them, as I know they are not as fussy about it as I am.

I did however post some older photos of family, and friends, from HS - but I only allowed those in the photos to view them.  I know they won't care if their brothers or sisters see them way back when, but wasn't sure if they'd be comfortable with everyone I know viewing them.

If you're concerned about privacy, you can crop the picture or blur the faces of the other people.
