I live in a medium sized apartment complex (26 or so townhouse units)  owned by a wealthy but harmless nutjob.  He's my age, if that makes a difference.

Anyways, my son was outside pacing.  A guy was out building a fence on our premises.  The guy called my son over to talk to him.  This guy turned out the be the builder of the apartments and a friend of Nutjob Landlord.   He was telling my son that his son has the same disability, only more severe. 

Actually, my son enjoyed talking to him.

Apparently Nutjob Landlord told this guy about my son's disability.  It's sort of icky to know that we're the topic of discussion with someone we don't even know.

Of course I'm discussing Nutjob Landlord with you...but STILL!

LOL Yes, you're discussing Nubjob Landlord with us.  But your point is well taken.  Nutjob Landlord probably found it a subject in common to talk with the fence guy about, when he was asked to work on the property.  I'm sure it means little more than that.

And it was nice that your son had a conversation with someone that was not only pleasant, but the guy understood how to relate to him from his own experiences.

Keep an eye on things.  But I sincerely doubt you have much to worry about on this one.

It's nice though that your son was able to have a conversation with someone who understood him and didn't treat him like some science project the way some people do when they find out you have a disability. Your son might even be able to give this guy some insight into his own son, and wouldn't that be nice?
I do love living in a town where everyone knows your business. I think it's important to have people keeping up with me so they can tell me what I've been doing...I'm so bad to forget... :-\

LOL. :D

It was nice of the man to talk to your son the way he did, but I take issue with people revealing that someone else has already told them something about you (general you).   For example, if "Mary" tells that me that "Jane" is booked in for surgery, then when "Jane" herself tells me about the surgery I will act as though it's the first I've heard of it.  This is for the simple reason that I'd hate for "Jane" to think that I/we were talking about her.  (I hope that makes sense).  Or then again maybe I'm just paranoid.

Heck, some of the things I hear from other people that I've supposedly done...that aren't true....makes me ask occasionally, "Did I have a good time?"  LOL
