I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE selling on Ebay. I financed the down payment for my first house by cruising estate sales and then reselling on Ebay. I had a GREAT feedback rating. I only left negative feedback as a LAST resort, to buyers who were delinquent and did not communicate at all.
When they changed the system, I found out firsthand how bad things could really get. There were people who left negative feedback despite receiving the item and emailing me that they were happy about it. "Price too high". "Shipping could have been faster". Ummm, don't bid if it's too high and my shipping methods/average times/costs are CLEARLY listed on the auction. One person left me negative feedback stating that they waited 5 weeks for their item....seven days after the auction closed. So now I can bend space and time? And as a seller you have NO recourse. Ebay basically says 'sorry, work it out yourself'. I only offer one shipping method and can not upgrade even for more money, and clearly state this. I got negative feedback from a buyer who changed her mind because I couldn't upgrade her shipping AFTER I REFUNDED HER MONEY, which I totally didn't have to do.
I tend to buy more than I sell now... And I only like the "buyitnow" feature...I don't have time to watch auctions.
