Who is the rude one

(1/6) > >>

MerryRaven:
Grace is a college girl that lives with us on her college breaks as her mother died last year.

She has a friend, Jake who asked her to pick him up from college and bring him home this last week.

She had been home for a week already and would have had to drive 90 miles in each direction to pick him up and bring him home.  The weather was bad with snow and ice, she didn't feel well and she told him she was not able to do that this weekend.

He kept calling her up over and over again telling her she had to come and take him home.
Because: a) he had wrecked his car the week before.
              b) he had written checks and had no money in his account and he needed to get home over the weekend so he could get money to put money in the bank to cover it.

So Grace said that she could not and why didn't he get his parents to get him.

It was because he didn't want the parents to know about the wrecked car and the checks.

Grace felt that as she didn't feel well and the roads were bad she just could not do it.  He said, "Well then I guess you really don't want a Christmas present from me."

Well, Jake called today demanding that she pay his check fees because "it was her fault his checks bounced and he had nothing to eat except frozen pizza and cookies all weekend."  He finally called his parents and of course they came to get him.

He told her she was so rude for not getting him.

Okay they used to date and have had a friendly relationship for several years, but this kind of broke the back of that.  I guess he said some terrible things about her personally.  Because they had dated he knew just how to hurt.

I told her it was time for some tough love and he was just mad because she wouldn't be convenient for him. I don't think she was rude.

Clara Bow:
Jake was beyond rude!!! HE wrecked his car, HE overdrew his savings account, both of which are reasonably preventable. To ask someone to drive 180 miles in dangerous weather conditions and then harrangue them when they aren't stupid enough to risk their lives because you can't handle your finances like a big boy is RUDERUDERUDERUDE, above and beyond rude!
By the way, how was he going to keep them from finding out about the car anyway? Was he going to conjure a new one out of the ground? Poor Grace...thank heavens she got rid of this entitlement prince!

sammycat:
WHAT??!!!  JAKE totalled HIS car, JAKE spent all HIS money, and yet he has the hide to call Grace rude!!  I can see why he is her EX-boyfriend.  Is this the first time someone has said no to him?  And kudos to Grace for having the backbone to stand up to him.

(Sorry about all the yelling, but this guy's attitude ticked me off!). >:(

ETA:  Please tell us that Grace will not be paying his bank fees?  They are in no way her fault or responsibility.

Sirius:
No sympathy for Jake here.  He wrecked his car, he should suffer the consequences.  He bounced checks, again he should suffer the consequences.  And Grace should tell him to take a hike as far as the check charges go; had he not bounced them in the first place, he wouldn't have had the charges.

ItZWhoUKnow:
I can see the episode now...This is the type of thing that ends up on Judge Judy....

In this case I would love to see ol' Judy call Jake stupid and then have Burt agree with her.
