Hey!  That's my favorite song on the The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert soundtrack!!!  There was a time when you couldn't pass me on the highway without seeing me belting it out at the top of my lungs cuz you know I've moved like Harlow in Monte Carlo and showed 'em what I've got  ;D

Have you also been undressed by kings and seen some things that a woman ain't s'posed to see?
 >:D

Yes, but when I took the sweet life, I never knew I'd be bitter from the sweet   ;D

... So what you're saying is, you've been to paradise but you've never been to you?

What about that "I've been to paradise" song by Charlene?

That's one I could never stand -- as a young girl it just made me feel icky.

Then again, I also don't like "{female dog}"  -- not not just because my friends would insist on screaming out the chorus while driving around  (You know, "I'm a femaledog, I'm a something, I'm a something, I'm something else.... they couldn't remember the correct lyrics either..)

Well, you know what paradise is...  It's a lie, a fantasy we create about people and places as we'd like them to be.

But you know what truth is?

Eh, I've been to me. Paradise is better.  :)

I guess I have bad taste in music too.   :'(  But I have a hard time discussing this kind of thing because even though I know that nobody has to share tastes with me, it's still painful to know that something I love is something someone else hates.
I'm away from sanity right now...please leave a message after the beep.

George Michael's "Father Figure." It's a recognized kink, yes, but let's not romanticize it, people.

And all it takes is one anime marathon (FMA) while listening to the radio to make two teenage girls start laughing until one pukes.

(It was an epic moment. But the song is creepyness.)

I can't believe nobody mentioned "And Honey I miss you".  I hate that song!
Bobby Goldsboro.  I'm with you.

I'm still, 40+ years later, wondering how Honey died.

My guess, diabetic shock.

I hate that song as well... well, with the original lyrics...

But I like to sing:

I will be your creature feature..."

I'm pretty sure Run Joey Run by David Geddes is a strong contender for the title.

The part where she takes the bullet her dad meant for her boyfriend and dies to the heavenly chorus is, admittedly, hilarious.

 Rocky might be a match.

My next one is Sarah MacLaughlin's "In the Arms of an Angel."  Maybe it's how it's been used recently but I can't listen to it.

How is it used? A lot of people completely misunderstand that song, which is about drug addiction. No, I'm not making it up - she says so on the liner notes of one of her CDs.

Wow... based on the chorus, I thought it was about someone committing suicide after living a difficult life.

It's actually about Smashing Pumpkins keyboard player Jonathan Melvoin, who overdosed on heroin and died in 1996.   Also apparently, about the hardships of being a musician on the road.

(I can't watch that commercial anyway, with or without music.)
