If my cell phone philosophy ever becomes "Life Is Too Short To Take A Potty Break," I'm going to have to re-evaluate my whole life..

If it makes you feel any better, my Mom still feels that she can pitch a fit if I don't pick up, return, or place a phone call as often as she'd like.  I'm extremely independent, busy, and 28 so I'm not clear why she thinks that she can dictate how often I speak with her but there you have it.  Like others have said, you'll have to start setting those boundaries slowly yet persistently.  Unfortunately there's not a lot you can do right now as (and forgive me for assuming here) your parents are probably still subsidizing your life.

Y'know, I might be really twisted but it actually bugs me a LOT more when people eat on the phone.  There is a "mute" button for a reason 

I am right there with you on this one. I will actually let the person go b/c it grosses me out so much.

Whew, another twisted sister!   I have had to eat on the phone before - I have diabetes & was having a low blood sugar at the time.  I apologized and chewed as fast - and as far away from the receiver - as I could.  I can't stand the sound of gnoshing and saliva swirling around...yuck!
