While we're on the subject of abbreviations, those, and cutesy names for things, such as EVOO for extra v*rgin olive oil, and sammy for sandwich.  Yes Rachel Ray, I'm talking to you.  But I hate it when people of my generation talk like that, thinking its cute, but really just makes them sound dumb.

While I do this on my shopping list (I regularly list scream for sour cream and 2 x 4 for feminine products) I don't do it in my speech.

OH me too, and then I get to the store and I'm wondering what the heck "scream" is.

Our list usually has 'butt wipe' and 'chat chow'.

Buying a new pair of shoes, that felt fine and comfy in the store, wear them at home and it's like they shrunk because now they're too tight and giving me blisters.

My friends and I swear they put Novacaine in the shoes in the store, and it wears off  my the time you get them home.

What is driving me batty today is that the neighbor's cat will walk in MY yard near MY fence and get my dogs going.  They were outside in the yard as the house was too warm and they wanted to be out.  However, who do the rest of the neighbor's get upset at?  Us, because the dogs are barking at 5AM.  Well, they WEREN'T until that cat came over!

The restroom for our area at work is single occupancy, with no stalls. Just a lock on the door. There is no reason to leave either the light or the fan on when you leave. Yet every time I go in there, one or both is still on. Drives me crazy.

Slideshows.

I don't want to (click to page 2) have to click (click to page three) so many @#*$ing (click to page 4) times just to (click to page 5) read one stinking (click to page 6) article!

YES!!! (click to page 7) I've started (click to page 8) just closing the tab (random advertisement here) whenever I realize (click to page 9) the story is one of those (another advertisement here, masquerading as another item in the list).

Well, there might be a reason to leave the fan on... >:D

I may be "only an assistant" and my time is "less valuable" than the attorney's, but if the attorney is going to ask me to do something which is her responsibility (maintain her time records) the least she could do is provide the proper case information instead of assuming I will look it up because - after all - my job is to assist her lazy butt.

New one now that I'm desperately job-hunting. I hate it when places let you upload your resume, then tell you to enter all of your work information. I just did! It's easily accessible! It's neatly organized with dates and phone numbers and job descriptions! Everything you could want, already uploaded! So why do I have to enter everything that's on my resume again?!

One that made me so crazy I wanted to smash the computer made me enter what state each job had been in. But I couldn't type 'Virginia' or 'VA'. I had to go to their search menu, find Virginia, click on the tab to select, and upload. It made me do that for every job I've had over the last ten years. And in some cases, asking for addresses of businesses that have closed, and refusing to accept that they have neither an address nor a phone number they can call.

My husband tried applying on a site one time that would automatically time-out his session as soon as he switched windows. He was trying to use a copy of his resume in Word as reference for the information they were seeking, but even if he hit alt-tab twice in succession, quick enough for a mere glance at the info he needed to copy, he would already be logged out of the application.

Because many businesses use character-recognition software to parse resumes out into the various fields in their system.  And because each resume is formatted differently, not every resume will parse correctly.  If it parses, great.  If not, they have the resume uploaded to look at manually if they have to.  I for one wouldn't want my resume to be deleted because the style of formatting that I chose didn't parse well.

If they had a real-live person looking at each and every resume, that would be great, but for large corporations especially that receive 1000+ applications for every position they post, it's just not feasible.

Trying to paint a dark paneled wall.  It's much more time consuming than just painting a normal smooth wall because it's got all these natural grooves that wood normally does, and it's not smooth wood either, some of it is rough so I have to go over it several times just to get an even coat. Oy.

When the people picking up my rented microfridge haven't come to get the stupid thing yet. I'd like to be able to not get in trouble for not having everything out of the room, thanks.

A coat of KILZ under the paint will work wonders for cutting the time and irritation down!  I've painted many a paneled wall...I don't envy you.  No fun at all!

And it's not like you can do what we did in Theatre in HS- just keep putting it on until its roughly the same color. At this point in the walls lives they have been painted so many times that it's a smooth wall now....
