The random nature of some internet features.  I can read "dingdangity You Autocorrect" and "Thatz Okay" all I want, but heaven forbid that I want to read an article about England's little prince or princess to be.  Those articles are blocked by the hospital because they are "adult" in nature.
Some people lift weights.  I lift measures.  It's a far more esoteric workout. - (Quoted from a personal friend)

I do work at one of the local high schools one day a week. Nothing school related, we're just using an unused wing for storage. I use their wireless guest account as part of my job, and when I'm on lunch I'll sometimes noddle about the internet instead of reading a book. It's weird to see what is and isn't blocked. I'm sure it makes sense to somebody, but not me.

Of course, I'm biased against internet filters anyway. Not because of free speech issues like many other librarians, but simply because of my experiences with the first generation of filters. Which were god-awful stupid, at best. They've gotten better since then, but they're far from perfect. Throw in the free speech and I just don't like 'em, at least not as mandatory requirements.

When I become someone's punching bag on DeviantArt for no reason at all:

* the gal who wrote a novel-length rant about how everything about my art sucks.

* the gal who left a message telling me that my art is "lame" along with a delightful little drawing of a stick figure taking a poo.

* the weirdo who accused me of faking and tracing my drawings. I went to that person's profile page and was greeted with a journal posting about that person's love for PORNPORNPORN!!! What a troll.  ::)

I went to your gallery to check out your work, and I do have to say this; cut them some slack.  It can't be easy going through life blind AND stupid.

I forgot to mention that I had never to spoken to any of those people before. Aaarrgghh!!

And don't even get me started on the people declare Deviant Artists to be nothing but (a) whiny anime fangirls (b) furry drama queens, or (c) emo attention whores, and cite the Encyclopedia Dramatica article as rock-solid proof.

Vague text/email messages from my mom...She sent me one indicating my step-dad needed to reschedule our lunch, but I don't have plans for lunch to begin with.  I sent her a text back asking what she was talking about and she texted back not to worry about it then, we could talk later (I was on my way to a job interview).  So I called her later, she didn't answer.  Then I texted her to ask what that was all about and her response was to ask when I'm going to be going to see my sister.  I tried calling again, still no answer.

Then this morning I get to work and I have 2 emails from her.  1 is titled "The next challenge" and says "Don't be afraid of change" (seriously, that's the entire email).  The second has no title and the text is "He needs you to do some legal research".

She still isn't answering her phone.  I'm so confused!

You don't speak cryptic?  ;)

My mother doesn't know how to text.  I am thankful.

That would make me bananas as well!  As for phone pet peeves, one thing that used to make me nuts about my old phone was that, if I were answering a text while another was coming in, the phone would freeze until it "landed".  And if I didn't check the new text right away and hit "read later" then the data entry on my phone would slow down.

Makes me very glad I upgraded!

If I'm texting and a new text comes in, everything I just typed is OBLITERATED.  It's counterproductive to conversation.  >:|

I cut the topmost little joint bend on my index finger yesterday.  I don't know how I did it, but boy it hurts.  It's a difficult place to put a bandaid on.

My stomach.

If I get anxious (even in a good way) about something, boy does my stomach hurt.  Right now it won't go away...boo.

I get that way too.  I was getting myself all worked up over something yesterday but I had the worst stress-sick tummy ache.  It stinks.

Also, I'm so over whatever sickness that has invaded our house.  Since the beginning of the month, SOMEONE has been sick and spectacularly so.  It needs to go away.

Right at this very moment, everything irritates me.  Every single thing (except maybe the furries, they're the one bright spot at the moment).  I've gone from being Ms So-laid-back-she's-almost-comatose to Grumpy Old Lady.  Sigh.

No, the fact I've just turned 51 probably has nothing to do with it...  surely not.   ::)

I've got a visit with my GP tomorrow to discuss last week's blood tests and see if age  :o  is really catching up with me.

Meanwhile, you kids get off my lawn!   >:D >:D >:D

(I can't wait to get my old self back......   :-[)

This one particular livestock classifieds website is driving me up the wall at the moment over their insistence that I use an ISP-based email address when registering an account. Gmail should be reputable enough to use, but it seems that even THAT is not okay. All I want to do is advertise some of my goats for sale, and there's a million dang hoops to jump through. I think I'll stick with allclassifieds and gumtree-- the Farmstock site also hurts my brain.

I was reminded recently of something that drove me up the wall years ago.  A girl I went to college with but was a couple years younger, was a Goth and she loved to wear red and black together.  And as far as she was concerned, no one else in her circle was allowed to wear those colors together.   ::)

Mind you we had totally different styles. Mine was more casual and laid back, hers was very dressy. I never saw this girl wear pants, only dresses and skirts.   I wore a red t-shirt with black jeans one day and she pouted like you wouldn't believe.  I had worn "her" colors.  Mind you, these were clothes I had from before I even met her so it wasn't like I'd gone out to get them to copy her style.  She wasn't even wearing red and black that day so it's not like one of those "we look like we planned it" cutesy things.

At that age, I probably would have worn red and black several times just to (tweak her nose) make a point.  ;D Unless it's something set, like work or school uniforms, no one gets to dictate what colors someone else wears.

Gretchen: [to Cady] If only you knew how mean she really is... You'd know that I'm not allowed to wear hoop earrings, right? Yeah! Two years ago she told me hoops earrings were *her* thing and I wasn't allowed to wear them anymore. And then for Hannakuh my parents got this pair of really expensive white gold hoops and I had to pretend like I didn't even like them and... it was so sad.
