I'm going totally against the grain here, and I mean no offense to anyone here.

I hate RHPS. I've never liked the movie itself, I've never been able to finish watching it because for some reason, it just doesn't click with me. Which is fine, everyone has their own tastes in movies.

But without fail, anyone I meet through mutual friends loves it. And they keep trying to tell me that if I go to a live show, it'll be great and I'll have such a good time. No, I won't. I don't like crowds, I don't like strangers, and I can't stand it when people in an actual theater sing along or speak along with the movie. Yes, I know that's the point, which is why I can't stand the thought of going.

The best part is there are a few people who have invited me to come along every year for the past six or seven years. I've given them a blank stare the past few years. They keep thinking that my mind will magically change. Not going to happen. Please leave it alone.

For most people who see it in their teens I think the whole "verboten" quality really reasonates.  I know the first time I saw it I thought it was wild and dangerous and sexy and cool.  That and I had to sneak out to go see it.

As an adult I really dig the camp appeal.  If there's anything I like more than camp and drag well I don't know what it is.

It is certainly not for everyone, nor would I expect most of my friends to get the appeal.

Piratelvr, of course I would say that!  And I can't help but singing "Janet, I love you" after anybody says "Dam it!" I just can't help myself.

And for those who don't like it, not everybody likes everything.  That's the beauty of the movies; there's so many different kinds out there that we can pick and chose what we like. :)

I first saw it in college, and I was told "Do not try to watch it without audience participation because it truly is an awful, pointless movie on its own.  The audience participation makes it the cult classic it has become" or something to that effect.  My friend who introduced it to me printed up the entire script with AP and we watched it in her dorm room, and I had a great time with it.  I did once try to watch it without the AP and I couldn't get through it.

But I've also found it's like Monty Python, not everyone is going to get it and as mmswm says, there's nothing wrong with that! :)

I first saw RHPS when I was...somewhere in the vicinity of eight years old. With my sister making all the lewd, profane and just plain inappropriate comments at the proper times. (Our mother was Really Not Happy with her.) I think I rather prefer just watching the movie without all the extraneous comments due to that.

As for what's driving me up the wall now...I've nearly finished a section of translating, and I'm stuck on the very last line. It's basically in three parts and while I can translate them all separately with no problem, I can't get them to fit together. It's driving me absolutely nuts, I want to hurry up and get this section finished and posted for people who are following my progress!  :-\

When I was in high school (late 1970s), I had a high school friend (male) seriously say that seeing/going to Rocky Horror Picture Show made you gay. Even as a high school student, I knew that was crazy. Guess who came out of the closet when he got to college!

Hugs. Oh, wait! Wrong thread.

We give out good treats. I miss kids. (I was a school librarian and our grandchildren are growing up.) Last year we had about 3 trick-or-teaters - 1 toddler and a couple of older kids.  One year we had about 12. Lights on, waiting for the doorbell.......

Dreading the leftover candy and cookie packs.  :(

DS and I discussed earlier that now he can take over the handing out of Halloween candy. He agreed. I get home, and he tells me that there are no kids to hand candy out to, so he wants to go play around. I am about to issue a text recall to him and he will hand out the candy.

When DH and I were first living together, he slept to anywhere between noon and 2:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.  It was wonderful:  I had the mornings to myself in the house.  I watched my cooking channels and shows he didnít like and I had alone time.

Well, I guess heís growing up (our little joke, as Iím 12 years older) because he has been getting up at 8am lately.  Last Sunday he even woke up before me, at 6:45!!!!!

And now I get no alone time.  He doesnít like to watch cooking but heíll put up with it for a little while.  But Iím getting so frustrated.

He gets plenty of alone time because I go to sleep at 9pm, and heíll join me around 11-11:30.  Sometimes heíll just fall asleep on the couch.

I want my weekend mornings back!!!  I love the guy but sheesh.

Realizing most of the way through an all-day, important meeting that, in the rush of leaving earlier than usual, I grabbed a brown rather than black jacket, which could not be said to coordinate with my black skirt and blue blouse. <sigh>

I can only hope that it was too dim in the room for most people to notice.

The high pitched squeals and screams trick-or-treaters were making for several hours. My indoor cats were getting scared and stressed out, the kids were that ridiculously loud. It was a bit annoying to me, too. You don't have to be THAT loud every time you eat a piece of candy or your brother pokes your costume, geez louise

I think my DH and yours are twins - my DH does the same thing. And he drove me up the wall yesterday for about the same reason.

DH and DS are both involved in boy scouts. I love scout camping weekends, because it's the only time I get the house to myself and can do stuff that I want to do and they don't, eat the things I want to eat because they don't like them, etc. This weekend, it was only going to be DH camping due to the nature of the campout. I had a whole 2 days of stuff planned that DS and I like to do but DH doesn't, and things/places to eat that DS and I like and DH doesn't. Thursday morning DH informs me that he's not going camping.

There go all the plans, because DH will now want to get involved in some of them. For example, I was going to take DS down with me to go orienteering but when we do it, we come in, do our courses, we're done at about the same time, then we zip outta there. DH does harder, longer courses and then will want to stay and talk with all sorts of people. There goes the schedule for then stopping and doing a bunch of other things that DH is not really interested in doing. We could drive 2 cars, but I hate to do that. Still trying to figure out what to do if DH is really going to come with us. I love him, but yes, sheesh!

I did this several times last year, but with black and navy socks and pants. I KNOW they can be worn together, but for me, it makes me twitchy. I can't tell you how many times I wore black socks, with navy pants, and vice versa. Drove me nuts even though NO ONE but me knew. The final straw was the memorable day I wore ONE black, and ONE navy sock with wahtever pants i had on. So i finally took the navy socks out of the drawer with the black ones, and put them in with my white sweat socks. SOOOO much easier now getting dressed!

All of mine are work related:

Unprofessional emails. Using bold, colored or underlining statements for no reason. Co-copying everyone under the sun. Using the reply all option when it is not necessary.

Soaking Tupperware or dishes in the company sink. Grosses me out and makes me want to toss the dish in the trash.

Using the bathroom stall as a phone booth

Last but not least, not making coffee when you know you drank the last cup in the pot.
