It's a small world, after all
It's a small world, after all
It's a small world, after all
It's a small, small world  ;)

My little cousin (she's 2) just learned to sing that. She sounds SO CUTE singing it.

You know the old story about getting kids to behave at Disneyland, right? Just threaten them that if they misbehave, you'll take them, have their feet nailed into the "Small World" ride display and make them sing that song over and over and over and over and over and over and over...

It was my greatest weapon for handling the real whiny brats when I worked the Main Entrance at Disneyland. ;) I had a lot of parents thank me.

Ernie from Sesame Street singing:
"Rubber duckie, you're the one.
You make bath time so much fun..."

Not really a song, but a commercial jingle:

I don't know about other parts of the US, but we had a short run of an aspercreme commercial that ended with:

"You bet your sweet aspercreme!"

I think they must have gotten some complaints because now its:

"You bet if it's aspercreme!"

No matter what I always hear it the first way when the new commercial plays......

CRUD MONKEYS!, I remember that commercial!  :o

I never did hear the "You bet your sweet Aspercreme" version, though - maybe that never made it to the West Coast?

Great. Now I've got the Aspercreme jingle stuck in my head.  ::) Thanks, Willow1979!  :P

and now for some seasonal nonsense----

What do you get a Wookie for Christmas
When he already owns a comb
What do you get for a furry sort of friend like that to take home
He doesn't need galoshes, or a hat upon his furry dome

Ohhh what do you get a Wookie for Christmas
When he already owns a comb

BTW -- one of the lead vocals was by a guy named John Bongiovi.  Although I heard he changed the spelling of his name since then.  Supposedly it was his first album.

Can you tell I am a Star Wars fan?  And yes, I have the whole album "A Star Wars Christmas"

NO WAY!!!  DH and BIL were just talking about that yesterday!  That very same song, too!  Was it really Jon Bon Jovi singing it??

I have to do some searching...when we had Thing 1 my MIL gave us a whole bunch of old kids record albums that belonged to DH and BIL when they were younger.  We don't own a record player so they are buried in the basement somewhere.  I wonder if that one is with them...

Well -- I knew there were classy people on this forum ;)

And yes it is that Jon Bon Jovi -- I don't know just WHICH song he sang on. The album just lists all the singers in a bunch on the back, and they don't list them on the record itself. (I just looked)

Of course it was co-produced by a Tony Bongiovi in 1980, might have something to do with the credit on the album.

Oh and R2-D2's version of Sleigh Ride is funny times 3.

How old would have Jon been in 1980?  I don't do "popular" music, never have. I prefer Big Band and Movie Soundtracks, and Renissance Music. Not exactly mainstream

For the past few days I have had the Winnie the Pooh song running through my head!!!

"Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh
Tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff
He's Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh
Willy nilly silly ole bear"

It is driving me crazy, and I don't even have children!!!

Anything by the Village People.

I'll have that darn *MC* song in my head all night if I'm not careful.

Not sure how old he would have been.  I grew up in NJ, and I'm a fan, but I'm not the kind of fan who knows all the details of the people I like's lives, if you kwim.

And not so much on the big band, but I am so with you on Movie Soundtracks and Renaissance Music!!  In fact I've been listening to the soundtrack from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe all day today.

Another Sesame Street song that I used to love....

Sing, sing a song,
Make it last, make it long,
Don't worry if it's not good enough, for anyone else to hear,
Just sing, sing a song
Lalalalala, lalalalalala

Yesterday my daughter and I passed a family in WalMart who spoke Spanish.  Daughter wanted to show off her Spanish, so she wished them "Feliz Navidad".  You guessed it, the Jose Feliciano song has been stuck in my head ever since  >:(.
