My computer got this too!  It sent itself to everyone on my contacts list.  It was an ad to some website.  It's so embarrassing when it happens!  I was wondering where I'd picked it up.  Good to know the problem has been taken care of.  I'm just surprised Google wasn't prepared for this sort of thing and had to take action AFTER the fact.  That really irritates me.

Oh Boy.
And how did you find out it was spamming people?
Were you logged into the program?

Wonder what else they might have managed to do...

It even spammed my FB page!  It looked like I had done a status update that simply said "dear dfg" and I couldn't figure out if my phone had butt dialed or what, but I just deleted it.

Then I got email responses from friends with the subject line "dear dfg" and I knew I"d been hacked.  I went in to my "sent" folder and there it was, from me to everyone in my address book.

The last time this happened it was a link to a Viagra website.  Talk about embarassing!  At least this one was just some kind of retail outlet (as far as I know....I did NOT click on the link).

My computer sent out the viagra ad.  A recruiter I deal with let me know.  I'm job hunting and I"m glad I wasn't actively interviewing for a position at the time.  Imagine accidentally sending it to the HR rep you're interviewing with, lol.

Just had a weird message in the bottom left hand corner of my browser about downloading from an unrelated URL.  I hadn't clicked on anything.  I looked up the domain and it was just registered on 5/24 so I submitted an email to their ISP questioning the legitimacy of the site.  I'm not waiting to see what happens, just restoring from a good system backup.  Will let you know if I see it again or learn more.

Edited because I was posting from my iPhone!

Edited again because this could be just an image that was downloading, but something about the message and the URL name seemed odd - and the registration date of the site bothers me a bit.  Hope it's just me being overzealous.

Mal/ObfJS-CM

That is what my virus software says is trying to access my system and says to run a full sweep of my system to remove any remnants that may exist on my system.

It's happened a few times now and the ad up top is an ad by google.  This one was a bridal one.

I don't know if that will help or not.

I think it is happening again.
I heard a weird noise periodically coming from my computer last night.  It sounds a bit like a a shh shhhhh sounds.  Then I remembered it was the same noise I was suddenly hearing when I had the malware that hi-jacks search engine and redirects to paid advertisement sites.

I am not 100% I got it here, but it is a strong possibility.

I got a couple of threat blocks yesterday when I logged into Ehell.  I think my virus protection software detects these threats in the links that some posters use for their signatures.

I get them quite a bit here but I've just been instructing virus software to block.  I get a lot of warnings about the google ads.
