When did you put up your Christmas tree?

Ehelldame:
Seeing all these tree lots with plenty of trees left to sell, it made me wonder when people are most likely to set up their trees.

mrsbrandt:
This year we did on Dec. 9th.  Normally we do it the weekend after Thanksgiving and go cut down our own tree so that it stays fresh and everything.  We had plans to go cut down our own tree on the 2nd, but we were rear ended so that ruined those plans.  This is the lastest we've ever put up our tree.  I wish we could have stuck with tradition and done it the weekend after Thanksgiving, it's always such a nice idea.

Family tradition.....

Mom and I put the tree up the day after Thanksgiving.  My brother wasn't ever interested in helping.  And, we send Dad off to do Dad things (golf, woodworking, whatever).  And, Mom and I turn on the Christmas music and decorate (and also turn the air conditioning on and put our shorts on - it's always hot out when we decorate for some reason!)

After we're done, Dad comes in and puts a special ornament on the tree.  It's in the shape of a white cat that looks like one we used to have that was very special to him.  He puts it on (usually putting it into the angel's hand at the top).  Stands there and sighs.  And, says, "Whew, I had to decorate the Christmas tree again this year."

That's at my parents' home.  I don't have one at my home this year (or previous years).  I just enjoy theirs when I visit.

I do have garland and lights on my patio this year, though. It's the first year I've had a patio to decorate.  Put them up the week before Thanksgiving, because I was going to be out of town shortly after that.

I don't put up a tree or much decorations. The cats would just eat them.  ::)
I usually go to Oldest Bro's for Christmas, and ever since my niece came along, they haven't either. They might this year, since she's old enough to be trusted with ornaments.

mumma to KMC:
We bought our tree yesterday (a little "Charlie Brown" tree) and will put it up tomorrow and decorate on Christmas Eve. We will keep it up until the Feast of the Epiphany. (Perhaps a little longer...)
