I remember walking out of our house and wondering why all the cars on the road were stopped or driving really slow.

Then I looked up.

It was a gorgeous, vivid, full arch, double rainbow that seemed to frame the street.  I have never seen it's like.  We just stood there and watched it until the second arch started to fade.  It was breathtaking.

The squeek still talks about that huge bright rainbow--she was three at the time.   :)

I *LOVE* rainbows!! I always have to stop and check them out for a long while when I see them. A couple of weeks ago, one appeared outside the window when I was eating at a restaurant. Great timing.
I would love to have tons of rainbow photos and other rainbow stuff in my house. If anyone knows of a good rainbow online store, let me know!

That sounds so cool! A rainbow over the Pride parade - how fitting is that?  ;D

What?  Haven't they ever seen Northern Exposure?

You made me chuckle!   Northern Exposure was filmed in Roslyn, Washington (I-90 between Seattle and Spokane)  where my family and a group of friends have gone camping every summer for 15 years!   I have played pool at "The Brick" and had tons of fun in that wonderful town.  It truly is beautiful.

Yes, I lived in North Pole, Alaska (just south of Fairbanks) for 4 years on an Air Force assignment with Hubby.  I LOVED it and would love to go back.   I still remember the newcomer who asked where we went to see fireworks on the 4th of July.  I suggested Seattle.   It was so hard not to laugh at her... but I didn't.

But back to the topic, I do consider rainbows and the Northern Lights to be blessings from GOD.  When someone brings up the point that there is no scientific proof GOD exists, I remind them that science still can't explain the Northern lights or LOVE either, but we know they exist. Some things just aren't meant to be explained.... it takes some of the magic away.... IMO.
