Foolish joggers.
IndianInlaw:
We were stuck in traffic, when I saw about a dozen people, wearing dark clothing and Santa hats, run through a parking lot and onto the street. After traffic cleared, I tried to spot them again, just to see what was what. They decided it was a good idea to jog along a darkened stretch of roadway (no businesses or streetlights) One person had two reflective strips and one person had a single one.
The rest had none.
I only saw them because I was looking for them.
Now you know I ordinarily wouldn't be caught dead yelling from a car, but I was going to shout "Nobody can see you!" as we drove by, but we turned onto another street before reaching them.
Cyndi:
Idiots.
My mom almost clipped a group of kids waltzing across the street(all wearing black). The area they chose to walk in was poorly lit, but the worst part is the stoplight and well-lit crosswalk was ten feet away.
Clara Bow:
My husband and I call them "road phantoms" and they are rampant here...especially after midnight for some reason. People will walk up and down Highway 90 out here with black or other dark colored clothes on, no reflectors, no nothing. Or ride their bikes out on the bridge with no reflectors on the back. Oh yeah, and did I mention that there are very few lights out on said highway and there are a lot of people driving back and forth out there, particularly truckers.....
Suze:
One of my cousins (medical Family, remember) calls joggers in black and the people that ride motorcycles without helmets or other safety gear -- organ donors.
I can't tell you how often I see people riding cycles around here in a speedo and flip-flops (gives me shivers to think what they would look like if they laid that bike down even at a slow speed)

IndianInlaw:
That's why they call them "donor cycles".
