I ride Harleys and yes they are a louder bike than your average Kawasaki or Yamaha.  However, I am willing to bet he has an ineffective muffler or ones that are deliberately damaged so they make more noise.  A lot of riders (and I use the term loosely) seem to really enjoy annoying people with the loud pipes.

And there's always the old theory that 'loud pipes save lives'.  Trust me, a Harley makes enough noise without help!   :D

I would call in a noise complaint in a heartbeat.

Both my husband and I own/ride motorbikes. Noisy ones, but not Harleys...

I would never consider revvign my bike at 4am in the morning!!!!

My husband does sometimes when he comes home from a ride, mainly to let me know (if I stay home) that he is coming and to open the shed. Mind you, this is all in the afternoon during daylight and not at some ungodly hour.

Heck I love the loud sound, but I am considerate enough to only rev when Im out in the open space. Not near any houses.. (Under a bridge or through tunnels are brilliant!!) :)
