Do you have snow? You do!

Ohhhhhhhh!  I'm sooo glad I don't have to be back in the office until Tuesday!  The snow calls are becoming laughable!  (Well...unless I wanted to slit my wrists in frustration!  lol)

From late September on, I've been getting calls wanting to know if we have snow, when do I think we'll get it, etc.  (I've posted about this previously.)

Well, last weekend we finally got snow!  Thank heavens!

NOW I can answer "yes we do!"  But...it's getting warmer now, and the snow probably won't last through the weekend.

We probably got about 4 inches out of the storm that hit us last weekend.  So now people are not merely satisfied with the fact that we HAVE it...they want to know how long it will be here....and when it will be coming back!

(Let me take your order!  You want fries with that?  lol)

Yesterday, I had a whole gaggle of people on the property outside my office, having a snowball fight...right near my car!  No, they didn't come in.  No, they didn't ask if it was okay.  Yes, I went out and asked them to please not throw snowballs at eachother near my windows or my vehicle...which they ignored.

Today I added snow information to our outgoing voicemail message...with upcoming weather forecast information for the next few days.

Whaddaya wanna bet that I'll have messages when I get back, asking about the frickin' SNOW?!  LOLOL

Where's the eggnog?  In fact...forget the eggnog...just hand me the rum!

MrsP81:
Just tell them that you have snow scheduled until tuesday but then you have to renegotiate the contract to see when it can return.

Or tell them that as a seasonal item, it has to be special ordered, and there is an extra shipping charge for that item, as its often on back-order or out of stock.

MineralDiva:
LOL!  I'm sooooo tempted to do just that!

LOLOL  Pixie, I actually used your line about backorders, this afternoon!

A guy called the office wanting to know if chains were required on his car.

Me:  You may not need to use them, but yes, I believe it is required by law that you carry them with you in the car, if you're coming up the mountain.
He:  Well are the roads clear?
Me:   They are clear in town, and the plows are out.
He:  Well I called Cal-trans (transportation authority) and they said Route X coming up the mountain is closed.
Me:   Closed?  I've had no word of that.
He:   Well...not closed.  They said chains were required.
Me:   Cal-trans told you chains were required?
He:   Yes.
Me:  Then yes they are!  And the CHP will stop you from coming farther up the mountain, if you don't have them with you.
He:  Well I didn't think you really had snow.
Me:  Yes, we do.  It came in late last night.  We've had it on backorder.
He:   Oh.  Okay.  Thank you.

Second conversation:  A woman calls, having rented a cabin here for the weekend with her children.  I don't even have an opportunity to say "hello" before she barges right into the demanding questions:

Me:  Good afternoon, (offi...)
She:  I rented a cabin this weekend and I'm disapointed that my children won't be able to go sledding, because you don't have any snow!
Me:  Well, as a matter of fact, M'am we do.
She (talking over me):  Because we've been other places that manuFACTURE their snow, and I want to know if you do and where I can go.
Me:  M'am...we have the real thing.
She:  Oh you do?  Since when?
Me:  Yes.  It arrived late last night, after being backordered over the holidays.
She:  Well is there anywhere in your town that makes it all year round?  We thought it'd be fun to go sledding in the summer.
Me:  No, I'm afraid not.  It's a seasonal item only.
She:  Well, will it still be there in March?
Me:  We may have snow.  But it won't likely be this snow.
She:  Well why not?
Me:  It's a rather temperature sensitive product.  Has to be maintained "just so."  That's not easy to do up here. So that means this snow will probably begin to deteriorate within the next week or so.   Some of it has already had to be removed.  It's unfortunately one of the drawbacks of going the "natural route" which we prefer, for a more realistic experience.
She:  Will you be able to order more?
Me:  Oh yes, M'am.  More is on order as we speak.  It's just that the place it comes from, is rather overwhelmed with requests and things occasionally get backordered or are out of stock.  So I can't honestly say exactly when more will arive.
She:  Oh.  Okay.  Thank you!
