Chanukah menorahs
(1/1)
Ehelldame:
I've asked this in previous years but forgot this year....I hope it's not too late.
I'd love to see members' Chanukah menorahs. I know many can be very individualistic and I enjoy seeing how people's tastes get expressed in their choice of menorah designs. Anyone game to post images of their menorah?
Lisbeth:
If only you'd posted this two days ago! That was the eighth night of Chanukah, when our menorahs had all eight candles lit as well as the Shamash (the special candle that is used to light all the other candles). That's always special for me. Unfortunately, I didn't photograph my menorah.
I'll have to remember to do that next year.
My own menorah is standard - one holder in the middle for the Shamash and eight holders to either side of it, which is traditional. Other designs are pretty unusual, but I've seen ceramic ones and others where there are eight holders in a row with one at the end, or ones with holders that are in a circle or some other arrangement.

Here's mine.
I bought it in Jerusalem back in 1985, when I was spending the year in Israel. I used the birthday money my grandmother sent me. I light it every Hannukah, and now I get to share it with my daughter. I like it because it's simple but elegant, and of course it reminds me of Jerusalem.
