calling grandma names
« on: September 14, 2010, 01:38:28 PM »
Yesterday I walked home from preschool with my 4 year old DD together with her friend and friend's Mom. Suddenly DD said to friend's mom "Do you know what my mom calls my grandma?"

I am very fond of MIL but I was still anxiously trying to think about whether I had said something that shouldn't be repeated and the other Mom was probably awaiting some revealing comment when DD continued "She calls her Conny (MIL's name)"

Further proof that children have the potential to repeat *anything* they hear.  :)

Met my new neighbor and her DD the other day (DD is about 3 years old). After chatting a moment, I asked the little girl if she had any brothers or sisters and she said "Not yet. But Mommy's working on it".

How nice that you have a discreet daughter!  ;)
