Hillia - I'm surprised you had difficulty at the Brazilian house.  We have always left bursting and have to turn our coaster to red bc they come by so often.  I think you got a bad one bc I've been to 4 different braz places and all were great and considerably more expensive to the tune of 49 Per person not including drinks.

Three places:

Sears--I've heard so many bad stories from that store, that I'm not ordering anything there.

Story #1: Mom and Dad bought a box spring and mattress. The delivery people bought the wrong box spring. Six weeks and multiple phone calls to customer service later, the box spring finally arrived.

Story #2: Sears installed the dish washer wrong. Mom called them. They charged her a "service fee", even though it was their fault that the washer didn't work.

We'll call this woman "Mrs. Tailor" since she is a tailor. I called to ask if I could come for my pants. She responded, "Not this week" and hung up the phone. Literally, that's all she said to me before she hung up.

Mom couldn't understand it, and she recommended Mrs. Tailor to my cousin Maria. Maria called, and this was the conversation:

*RING RING*

Mrs. T: "What do you want?"

Maria: "Ummm....this is so-and-so. I was wondering if you could hem my pants..."

Mrs. T.: "Come in at 10." *click*

The thing was that Maria was going to ask her where she lived, but decided not to go to her after all.

And #3 is A.C. Moore's. I had two things of white thread. I went into a line to pay. The light by the register was on. I was the last one in line. As it's my turn to pay, the cashier turns off the light and tells me I have to go somewhere else because it's her break time. Ummm...no. Turn off your light earlier if you have to be on break at a certain time.

Then, I wanted to get my project framed, and the sales associate kept showing me how to make my own when I told me multiple times that I DID NOT want to frame my project myself. I told him that I wasn't going to buy anything from the store, and I went to Michael's where they were more than happy to help me.

Now (thankfully) defunct airline that rhymes with Power Chair.

I booked a flight to California with them because they were uber-cheap. I soon found out why. They called me *twice* to tell me my flight had been canceled/rescheduled. Not a big deal, as I was able to book another or fly at the rescheduled time.

Then there was a Five. Hour. Delay. on the tarmac before we could take off. No explanation. They did give out complimentary (nonalcoholic) drinks as compensation during the wait, but since we were discouraged from using the bathroom, it wasn't what you'd call the best of perks.

Once in the air (finally!), it was like pulling teeth to get a simple request granted by the flight attendants. I'm asking for a pillow, not the freakin' moon!

I would boycott them, if they still existed.

BTW, I realize airlines are doing things now like charging for pillows, but this was 1999.

I can't figure out the airline name. Its not against the rules to name the company and sometimes these 'rhymes' make it more confusing.

That was what I was gonna say. My grandmother used to tell people that any bride who didn;t have bruises had married another woman.

I'm so glad i'm far from that woman.
OT -- MY grandmother told me (well before I was married) "If your husband beats you, just remember -- he's got to sleep sometimes, and two-by-fours are easy to come by."  >:D

We now return you to your regularly scheduled gripefest. ;)

I agree.

It's... something Air. Clearly chair = air. Otherwise I got nothin'.

Baglady go ahead and post the company's name, you won't get in trouble. :)

DangerMouth is correct. It's Tower Air. Sorry about that. I was just being playful. How can someone get in trouble for naming a business that doesn't exist?

My father died in his sleep and was found Sunday morning of a 3 day weekend.  Funeral arrangements were made Monday afternoon, and the funeral home requested that a picture be provided to them by 10 a.m. Tuesday so they could get the full obituary in the paper for Wednesday & Thursday for the Friday funeral.

The only current photo was an 8x10 picture taken for a church directory several years earlier.  I took it to the club store of a big box retailer to scan it and make copies.  I decided to make 4 4x6s in case someone in the family wanted a copy.  The copier malfunctioned, I got an error message on the screen and called the attendant over.  She fixed it, and I ran the other two copies.  When I went to pay, she saw the envelope from the photographer who took the photo, grabbed the copies out of my hands and informed me that she could NOT sell them to me, because they were copyrighted.  Just what I needed.

I took the photo to a drug store & made my copies there.  The lady there saw what I was doing & asked what they were for & I told her.  She told me it WAS a copyright violation, but under the cirumstances (obituary photos) no one with any common sense or compassion would refuse to sell them to me.

A few weeks ago, I went to my state convention for my job  in big city.  I had been talking to DH the night I was away, telling him that the hotel was really nice and he and BabyJ should come up after the conference was over and spend the night.  Sort of a minivaction.  DH decided to surprise me and do that, but due to him and BabyJ oversleeping, I was through before they made it to big city, so he had to tell me his surprise so I wouldn't head back to hometown.

I decided to kill the hour or so wait I had by going to buy a swimsuit.  That was the only thing I needed, since I'm a notorious over packer.  I went to a little shop that was having a sidewalk sale with most of their bikinis.  5 dollars a piece.  I thought perfect.  I won't wear a swimsuit but this one time this summer, so 10 dollars seemed like a good price on a 1 time outfit.

Now, I'm not the smallest woman in the world, and I know I probably have no business wearing a bikini, but again, I figured that it was just for the night and I would get a cover-up to go to and from the pool area.  I also know that most larger women have large b*r*e*a*s*t.  I don't.  I barely fill a B cup.  I was looking at some string bikini tops, thinking I could get that and some board shorts or so and have a decent suit.  I asked a sales lady if she knew how the small, medium, large size tags on the tags related to cup sizes.  She looked me up and down and said, "You'll need an extra-large."  And turned back to the other sales associate and continued her conversation.  Well, no.  I have a big behind, not a big top and the cups would look ridiculous on me.  She then, while I was looking at some lingerie, grabbed an extremely low cut and large blouse and held it out to me, saying, "I think this would look good on you."  It would have looked good on someone more well endowed but would look like a sack on me.

Disenhaertened I grabbed a few large/extra large tops and bottoms and was pointed to a dressing room.  Note, that a skinny girl had come up when I was browsing and wanted to try on some suits was escorted to a changing room and also had the two sales ladies falling all over her.  I only tried on one of the suits before I was near tears, so I decided Walmart would be better.

The only redeeming fact of the store was when I was putting up the suits I chose, another saleslady who told me, while we were talking that she was just there for the sale, helped me find a nice suit and a cover-up for around 20 dollars.  SHe was great.  The other two sales ladies acted like I was something they needed to scrape off their shoes.  Too bad too, cause I had planned on not only buying s swimsuit, but also some lingerie and a nice suit to go out to dinner in, since I never get to shop for myself, by myself.

I won't go to Kmart anymore.

Not really bad customer service, but the store was laid out poorly, was never stocked well and was always a mess. I remember going to several different locations and they ALL would be like that.

I went in once to buy some tshirts for my son and they didn't have any. Not just in his size but at all. I searched all over for an associate, I thought maybe they had just had a huge sale or something and hadn't had a chance to restock the area. There was no associate to be found and honestly, I didn't feel like going up and standing in the mile long line at the Customer Service Desk.

They also had a HUGE girls clothing dept. and like a 10ft X 10ft carpet area for boys. it was ridiculous. It was like no one had boys and if they did, they certainly NEVER bought them any clothes except for cheap looking shorts and tshirts with characters on them.

Target is going to be next on my list if they don't start treating customers right.

The Rite Aid location nearest me is about to loose my business as well if they don't stop pressuring me to sign up for their "savings" card. I don't buy anything there except for prescriptions and sometimes the occasional item. Hardly enough to sign up for another card.

The Kroger location is going to get an email from me to Corporate if I have to return another package of meat that is bad and isn't even to the "sell by" date yet.

The Verizon Store. UGH! 6 people working the store and only 4 customers and I still had to wait for over an hour and still not waited on. All I wanted was a battery for my son's phone. Unfortunately, I can't boycott them yet as we still have a contract with them until next year...UGH!

yep "plush size gals" just should lock themselves up in a dresser somewhere till they are skinny enough to "matter"

GAH

I hate those clerks -- ran into enough of them myself.

and have walked out of stores myself because of them

one was a Lane Bryant of all places -- aren't they supposed to cater to "plus size"

I can't help it I am pear shape with not much chest to speak of

Ohh...yeah...Lane Bryant.

I wont shop there just because I don't like most of their clothing. I went in there once to find a blazer and was pretty much ignored.

Now I love Torrid, because everytime I go in there, they show me the new stuff and tell me about any sales. It caters to the younger crowd so I like them just for casual things.
