OR they just put them on a hanger and slid a bag over them.  Maybe sprayed them with Febreze first, to get odors out.

I'm pretty sure the bag was washed and possibly pressed. But it was definitely not dry-cleaned: the whole reason I took it in was because my cat peed on it, and it still smells like cat urine.

I'm not sure if I really want to contact the owner. I'm considering making a Yelp review and including the fact that the owner resolved the situation and seemed to be an honest guy. I don't know.

I had my tonsils out in '87.  Before, I would get a 103+ fever every year right around the first day of school.  Haven't had anything like that since.

My bf was born in 56 and told me once that while she missed it, there was a period of time where doctors were removing tonsils whether they were a problem or not, and her older sister had hers removed.  I think by the time bf was born they realized it really wasn't necessary to remove them until they did pose a problem.

Friend still has her tonsils and they haven't caused any issues for her.

I was so glad when mine came out and my deviated septum fixed.  Before then my parents used to make embarrassing comments about my snoring like "Wake up, you're scaring the other drivers!" when we were driving.  Course there was no comfortable and snore-proof way to sleep in the car as lying down was not an option for me, usually since younger brother usually was the first to fall asleep and would put his head in my lap.

I still snore, but no one has made any embarrassing jokes about it.

Even when I was a kid, and I was born in '65, they were still taking them out after say, one or two sore throats. I can remember being in the hospital after my dog nearly bit my eyelid off (surgery to sew it back on) and was in a room with two sisters who had just had theirs out. I still have mine, but i never really had any issues.

And I snore, or so I've been told, like a warthog.

Can the tonsil conversation please get it's own thread?  Thanks.

Summary: A Houston organic restaurant - Roots Bistro - posted a sign that read:

The manager on duty tried to backtrack too. Disgusting.

I must have a really messed up sense if humor, because that didn't bother me. It got a laugh out of me. It was a stupid joke and obviously the manager didn't think that through.

Ditto. He didn't think that many people will not share his sense of humor. Stupid, yes, but I would still shop there.

Deliberately triggering folks is never funny.

I find it offensive and not in the least funny, but I think it's more a case of insensitivity/stupidity than setting out to deliberately trigger anyone.  I doubt that thought even crossed their minds.

I would have agreed, because people that think bad puns are funny rarely have any realistic view of how much other people will enjoy them IME, but the follow up sign definitely seemed a bit ... deliberate. That's the one that would have stopped me shopping there.

Also, seems a bit PD to me, as the set of people who would enjoy the sentiments posted and the set of people who would pay extra for organic, locally produced food have a fairly small intersection, I would have thought.
"Can't do anything with children, can you?" the woman said.

Poirot thought you could, but forebore to say so.

Wow. Yeah, the no remorse would cause me to stop shopping there. He doesn't realize that not everyone shared his sense of humor but then doesn't feel bad about offending anyone.
