My coworker and I had a bad day at work, and after we picked up his fiancee we decided to go out to a local restaurant to eat something and relax. Usually this is a good place to eat, and the waitresses are awesome. I saw that one waitress I absolutely adore was working that night. We'll call her Sally. Well another waitress came to the hostess podium and escorted us to our table, telling us she would take care of us. That was fine with me, it really didn't matter who was taking care of us. This waitress we will call Jamie.
When I got my order part of it was wrong, and the waitress went back to get the right item. I couldn't even eat my burger because it didn't have mayonnaise on the side as i had requested. Finally I had to grab Sally and ask her to do what Jamie should have done, which was go and get the right fries and the mayonnaise she didn't bring. Jamie didn't even check on us during the meal, except to come back at the end and give us our check (without asking us whether we wanted dessert or not!-- it is standard for the waitresses there to ask if anyone would want dessert). She placed my check in a puddle of water that was on the table... so it was soaked. Then after she did that, and after she asked my friends if they wanted refills, she fairly ran away from us, and didn't hear me as I asked for napkins. I ended up having to wipe my greasy hands on my sweater. I then grabbed Sally again, and asked for a box, so I could take the rest of my food home.
When we left, we didn't even leave her a tip, because the service was so awful. The tip that Jamie would have gotten, I gave to Sally, because even though she wasn't our waitress, she was the one who did everything for us! I even explained to the manager what went on, and she said that she would have a talk with Jamie. The way she said it makes me think this isn't the first time it has happened.
