When your major sadness over a corrupt camera SD card following Dragon*Con is not the loss of photos of people wandering around in random, really good costumes but the utter destruction of a photo of you, your husband, and your business partners with Richard Garfield (the creator of Magic: The Gathering), which you had planned to go get printed out at CVS for him to sign so you could hang it on the wall of your card shop for all the other, less fortunate nerds to drool over.

*sighs*

Slarti, looks like y'all had a blast!  And you need to watch Eureka; it's a great show.

Okay, since you mentioned Dragon*Con, here's a story for you from last year:

I was in the elevator with my friend Stephen (bottom left in that picture above), and about two dozen other people.  One lady got off at her floor, turned around, noticed Stephen, and said "Omigod, you're the Dragon*Con TV Guy!  You're famous!"

(He has done about a million spots for DCTV, and he gets this all the time at 'Con.)

Stephen: Oh, I'm not famous.

Half the people in the elevator: O M G!  You totally are!  You're famous!

Then after we got off the elevator, he cracked up - because Scott Adsit (of "30 Rock" fame) was standing directly behind him the whole time.  And nobody else recognized him.

...when you find yourself doing this: "La la la, fast forward through these boring commercials...Wait, wait, did I spot Jamie Farr in one ? Back the truck up!...Nooo, Jamie, why are you only doing a play in my town right when my work hours have been cut ? Why didn't you come when I had more extra money every payday ?"

Oh, boy! I think my SIL needs that eapot for her birthday.  :)

For myself, i moved the XBox out into the living room so i could play on the big hi-def tv and spent all of both Saturday and Sunday playing Mass Effect. If my wrists hold up this weekend looks to be more of the same.

It's alright, man. I'm only bleeding, man. Stay hungry, stay free, and do the best you can.

Check out http://disasterpiecetheatre.com - that's the podcast everyone crashed our room for.  ("Everyone," in this case, being Colin Ferguson, Richard Epcar, Misha Collins, and a handful of other actors from shows I don't watch.  Colin actually called Felicia Day and Wil Wheaton to come down, but they had already gone to bed.  Still - squee!!!!!)

Warning: the Misha Collins podcast is very NSFW.  I think he just wanted to get it over with so he was throwing out suggestions he thought were too dirty to air.  He was wrong  >:D

You're saving your overtime and monthly bonuses so you can buy the 1254 piece lego set of the Millenium Falcon.

Ooooh, nice :) I have been eyeing that up, too.

When you tell a student reluctant to enter the faculty/staff break room because he needed something in there that "The break room is not Mordor. You can simply walk into it if you need something."

Seriously? At my school it was totally Mordor. If you even knocked, one of the evil denizens on the inside was liable to bite your head off and suck out your insides. There wasn't any lava, but I heard that the coffee was just about the worse thing in the known world.

(And I want to become a teacher!)
