We have an infestation of clothes moth larvae in the laundry room. Every day there are a few on the ceiling, even though we never see them moving up the walls. We call them the Weeping Angels.

My mother has imposed a rule on my nerdy family: books cannot be read during the Christmas gift exchange. You can read the back, flip a couple of pages, ask the giver about it but then it must be put down so other presents can be opened. This rule came into effect the year she found herself surrounded by people reading and unopened presents. SHe has also subtly manipulated the gift pile so that books come last.

I hope I have to institute such a rule some day.  Your family is awesome.

Nerdy and geeky.  Forgive me.

You suggest using that extra little compartment in your sister's new shortwave radio to store polyhedral die.  Why?  So we can roll numbers and enter random frequencies.

(It's perfect, too.  We almost never get anything above 20 mHz (20,000 kHz), so the d20 is a perfect start, followed by rolling a d10 a couple of times. )

You recognise the baddie in NCIS, not as the baddie from a CSI episode you watched last week, but from the small role he played in 2 episodes of Star Trek: Voyager that you haven't seen in almost 2 years.

That happens to me all the time!

When you remember random (to other people) actors, and everyone is impressed. You like that they're impressed, but you won't admit you remember them because they all played Vulcans on Star Trek!

Or you recgonise their voices but you can't place them because you've never seen them without their make up on (Neelix used to be the worst one for me.) so you have to look up imdb to check who they are.

I have to admit, I am much better with recognizing that I know a voice than a face...especially all those assorted aliens.  :>
