This from my sister: "Ultimate Electronics deserves a shout out. My 7 yr old has been saving for a Wii for over a year. Newspaper ad this AM had the old model half off at UE. When we got there, they were all out. Seeing my son's crushed face, they gave him a $50 gift card! Needless to say, we got him a new Wii."
(Just to head off any such speculation: he's not at all the kind of kid to throw a fit in a store if he doesn't get what he wants, so I know it wasn't given just to get rid of him. And they're not the kind of parents who would reward that kind of behavior with a new Wii anyway.
