Deleting a thread
« on: October 18, 2010, 03:39:36 PM »
This newbie posted a new thread, but to the wrong board (forgot had navigated to a different area).  I searched the administration forum and couldn't find what to do, so I modified the post to delete the question and state that I'd posted to the wrong board, then I posted it under the appropriate category.

We can't delete our own threads, and we can't report our own posts to the moderator, so what was/is the right thing to do?

Thanks for your patience as I stop lurking and start partipating!

ETA: Outdoor Girl kindly shared with me elsewhere that, while we can't delete our threads, we can move them by scrolling to the bottom of our post and selecting Move Topic.  My apologies to those whose time I've taken with my mistake, and thanks so much to Outdoor Girl!

Mods often catch and move these on their own.  Otherwise, you can just modify your original post to start with, "Mods, please move; I put this in the wrong folder by accident."

I think all of us do this from time to time.  I've learned not to post my own threads before about 9 am.  :)

I have a blog.  I hate that word.
