Reading through this thread, I am amazed at all the people who are amazed at children eating food during church. It happens all the time here and by kids who should be able to handle an hour long Mass. I see kids who are in elementary school with sippy cups and it brings on a near coronary.
My ds will be a year old tomorrow. He hasn't had a bottle at Mass for about 3 months. He does have books he reads and we do have to take him to the back from time to time but he doesn't need to eat. Again, I see kids at church eating, drinking and playing game boy. (Okay, only one kid playing game boy) And again, these kids are old enough to sit still (school aged) and pay attention.
When we go to the weekday Mass for the kids who attend the school at our parish, they all manage to behave well, without the help of snacks...why shouldn't Sunday be any different?
