Invisible Text? It CAN be done!
« on: November 07, 2010, 10:34:33 AM »
I was playing with the font color this morning, and thought I would try something...

I wanted to see how yellow looked when I typed something, and previewed it. (This was the result.)

And then I wanted to see how white looked, but it wasn't available in the drop down list. So I did yellow again, and replaced the word yellow with the word white. (This was the result.)

Which gave me a GREAT idea... and I changed the color of the font again, but this time used the word transparent. (This was the result.)

Highlight the text inside the parentheses to see what I wrote. :) It looks like we CAN make text invisible when it is a spoiler, or potentially squeamish to other posters! It just isn't an option in the drop down list! Hooray!

Um, your transparent text is not transparent.  It came out as regular text.  :-[

And for me it's so transparent that I can't see it even after highlighting it.

Worked for me. I wonder if it only works if the OP is using the same color scheme as the reader? (I'm using the default 'light golden').

ETA: also I'm using the latest version of Flamingvixen and keep it up to date)

For me, it's regular black text.  I'm using the light silver color.  (Internet explorer here.)

I'm using light blue, and the latest version of FlamingVixen. :( Darn it! I thought I'd found something that would work for all.

Interesting! For me it works perfectly.

I'm using the "light green" colour scheme, so it doesn't seem to be colour scheme dependent.

Oh, and I'm on Chrome.

I just checked using Internet Explorer, and it doesn't seem to work in that browser for some reason. :(

I tried Flamingvixen and Safari, neither of them works, so maybe it's some Mac thing.

I am using Chrome too, and it's working for me.  Maybe it's a Chrome thing!
