Miss New York crashes the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Apparently, the outgoing Miss New York wanted one last moment in the spotlight before passing on her title to this year's winner, so she hopped on the float designated for another beauty queen, in full sash and tiara, and proceeded to wave to the crowd until being removed by parade organizers.

Yeah, she's something all right. My first thought was "If she wanted one last moment in the spotlight, why on earth didn't she plan HER OWN moment?? Why take someone else's time?!?"

I'm willing to bet that if she actually had a float and one last appearance, and Miss USA crashed it, she wouldn't think it was such a great idea.

I agree.  When there's a "scandal" in the past, a pageant queen/contestant will act remorseful.  Now they act proud and, in fact, create it themselves for publicity.

I think she should have been dethroned, even if it would have only taken a day or so off her reign. That's awful.
