I still believe in Santa Claus

fklwmn:
Just thought I would share the conversation I had with DS2 (who will be 10 in 2 weeks) yesterday.

DS2: It’s too bad you don’t know Santa.

Me:   What are you talking about? I know Santa!

DS2: No you don’t. Only me and DS1 know Santa.

Me:   No… I know Santa too!

DS2: But you never got to, like… sit on his lap… tell him what you want for Christmas…

Me:   Yes I did! (about to get into the fact that even Grandma knows Santa… he’s been around a LONG time – but I got cut off.)

DS2: Oh yeah!!! I forgot!! You’re young! You just act old!!!

Me:    (laughing)

From the mouths of babes, huh?

Clara Bow:
Wowee....*passing you your cane and false teeth* What a pistol!

Cupcake Fiend:
Cute!!

I love the things kids come up with.

Thank you for that.  Makes me hope my sister has at least one more year of Santa presents.  Which means I get at least one more year of buying her extra stuff for Santa to give her. In conjunction with my parents of course. ;)

Musicwoman:
I once came across a Santa who really knew his business.

It was at a community Carols by Candlelight and they had a Santa who was giving away little bags of lollies.  My daughter Blossom (9 at the time) was getting a little skeptical about the whole Santa thing but hey, a bag of lollies is a bag of lollies so she joined the queue.  I noticed that Santa would whisper something in each kid's ear and they would reel away looking thunderstruck, so I was determined to hear what he was saying.

Blossom's turn came, she got her lollies and Santa said "You've been a pretty good girl this year but there's just one thing I have to tell you..." and beckoned her close.  Then he whispered "...when you clean up your room, you have to stop stuffing the rubbish under your bed!"

Blossom reeled away looking thunderstruck, clutching her bag of lollies and gasping "That was the REAL Santa, Mum!  It HAS to be!  He knew!  HE KNEW!!!"

Ah, good times.  She believed in Santa for another 2 years on the back of that experience
