(they're all insane OSU Buckeye fans)  ^_^  I can be evil when I want to be.

Putting aside my personal rivalry for the moment.... if you would prefer something from the University of Michigan, I'd be happy to stop at the school store for you. :D

And I think I'd be tempted to forget I was being polite once the "joking" started.
OOOh, she said it's interesting!  Put it on if it's so interesting... haha
You: Oh well, I was trying to be nice.  But, since you put it that way, the shirt is hideous.  You'll of course understand why I'm not trying it on.

Only in my dreams, now that y'all have beat some manners into my head. LOL

I think they would lynch me if I actually got something from the Michigan college store.  But right now the plan is to make cross-stitch peices in Michigann blue and yellow(with my other aunt who didn't take part getting on in OSU scarlet and grey)  if they make comments ^_^

me: "You don't like it?  But I spent so much time making them for you, I thought it would look good with your decor.

Not to mention if I buy something, they can return/exchange them.  If I make something they can be rather stuck.

And for those who wanted pictures of the shirt.

You can't really tell in the picture, but this shirt is sheer as well.

OUCH!

The pics definitely make your point.

It strikes me as a male shirt, in on old fashioned way. Maybe thats because I just went to see a pantomine.

Goblue, I remember when the almost palindromic city of Iowa City, Iowa decided to erect a pedestrian walkway connecting two buildings, an artist was commissioned to design one. (Can't they build a plain one, like normal cities?).   He proposed this sort of funhouse looking thing, painted blue.

Those connected with U of I were not amused.  The word "Michigan" was mentioned time and time again.

Could have been worse, could have been Iowa State colors!   My Hubby is a Hawkeye Fan, I'm a Husky Fan, a couple of the Rose Bowl games were interesting in our house.   I remember my first holiday with Hubby's family. They asked if I was rooting for Iowa or Iowa State.... I said, "Huskies aren't playing" and was never heard from again..... not really, they laughed, and still tease me about it!

But as for that Blue shirt.... I'd bury that in the back yard and have a small service for it.    That is just so not my style.   I'm sure it would look lovely.... on someone else.

So, I am unclear on this.  Did they mean it to be a gag gift?  My thought is gag gifts are inappropriate unless that is the theme, or they are in addition to an actual gift, like the rest of the family is getting.  I wrapped a bag of cherry tomatoes for my oldest nephew as a joke, but he did get a real present after the tomatoes.  Sheesh.  I think you handled it just fine.

Looks kinda 80's to me. I could see someone wearing that with white stretch pants, white tank top, spike heels, big hair, the works...

Of course if you are not into that stuff, you're probably gagging by now, ;D but still...
You are only young once. After that you have to think up some other excuse.

Nope this was an actual real gift(thank GOD! for gift receipts) Going out on Thursday to exchange it(and some other things, like the denim jacket I got as well) just hope I can find something.

Well currently the tentative plan(with my sister-in-law) is to give them something Michigan State themed(they're all insane OSU Buckeye fans)  ^_^  I can be evil when I want to be.

You would want to make sure that it is Michigan (U of M). I don't think MSU registers on the Buckeye horizon. I got my ex boyfriend's dad a U of M shirt for his birthday one year (I was from MI, ex was from Ohio). The dad thought it was funny. Ex did not.

As far as the shirt goes...could you maybe were it with a tank underneath? Maybe with jeans? I used to have a shirt similar to that one (in hues of pink) and it was plain hard to find something to go with it.

I'm still trying to get over that 6 people went in on your gift and this is the best they could do.

Lol, well for the cousins and the uncles they weren't part of actually picking the thing out, or contributing to it.  Just how our family does things.  Nope the entire blame falls on the two aunts so they're the ones getting the goat gifts next year, the other will be shopped for as I normally do, especially when they were the ones laughing the most.  I may even give into the temptation of giving my male cousins marshmallow guns ^_^

Is it made for a chimp?  The arms on it appear to be really long!

I think that next year you should give it to one of your aunts that gave it to you.  Tell them you thought it was just 'so them'.   :D
