Are they related to my mother? She keeps buying my shirts like that and they are NOT ME.

[I think they would lynch me if I actually got something from the Michigan college store.  But right now the plan is to make cross-stitch peices in Michigann blue and yellow(with my other aunt who didn't take part getting on in OSU scarlet and grey)  if they make comments ^_^

me: "You don't like it?  But I spent so much time making them for you, I thought it would look good with your decor.

Not to mention if I buy something, they can return/exchange them.  If I make something they can be rather stuck.

Back after the "holiday".  Happy New year everyone!

So, since you want to make them something, I enjoy cross-stitching too. ;)  Let me know if you need any help.  And I agree with the person who said MSU doesn't register.  It's got to be Michigan to get the point across.  But, we don't want you lynched either.  Maybe if you find a pattern of pansies or bluebells.  I mean, it couldn't possibly be your fault that a blue flower would have a yellow center, right?

Right now I'm thinking of making biscornu http://own-two-hands.livejournal.com/4186.html like these.  Maybe a series as I've hear they stitch up really quick and I don't want to do anything too complicated.

Gad! I do like shirts with ruffles, and I wouldn't be caught dead wearing that thing!

And that shade of blue is just … just … hideous.

Wow, that is just a horrible, horrible shirt and blue is my favorite color. Were the relatives who picked it out being deliberately mean or are they just that clueless on a regular basis?

Not really, he just kept giving a look of "what is this thing doing on MY bed"  while I was taking pictures.

i really really feel your pain. I got this sweater from my husband's grandmother a few years ago. I was 21 and have always dressed rather preppy. This year for Christmas I wore a cable-knit sweater from Jcrew, a wool skirt and knee high boots. The sweater is also 2 sizes to large.

OW!  The irony is all my aunts and my mom were wearing sweaters like that one for Christmas, I'm dreading the day they decide I must have a Christmas sweater.

Perhaps "It's not my usual style - but I'll have to see what it goes with in my closet........"

I have gotten one or two items that didn't go with anything in my closet - not even the denim jeans that go with just about anything............

I gave away the "pussy willow" tshirt with kitten heads all over the twigs - as the size large (juniors) was not going to fit my forty-something body after two kids.  I loved the design and the color - but the hubby isn't that good about watching the SIZE tags.

And the DS refused to wear a tshirt with KITTENS on it!

I think the best part of the second picture was the cat laying next to the blouse.

Depending on what it looks like, you can send me the Christmas sweater. I have a black cardigan with sequined poinsettias (it's way too big on me now, but I still wear it) and I bought one this year that is cream-colored, with sequined cardinals on it.

As long as it sparkles … ;)

It was bad enough in the description, and THEN I saw the ruffles, the Camelot cuffs, and the PEPLUM.

 Peplum---p'too, p'too. :-X
In masks outrageous and austere
The years go by in single file;
But none has merited my fear,
And none has quite escaped my smile.

Ouch, that is definetly an old lady sweater (nothing wrong with it on old ladies and nothing wrong with old ladies, but not for a 21 year old!) or at the very least, a cheezy teacher sweater (the kind I would tease my soon-to-be-teacher college roommate about).

When I was 21, I went to visit my parents in FL. My stepfather kept insisting I go to this one place and buy a leisure suit.  He kept saying "They make them for women", as though I was missing the point.

I'd have been the talk of the UMASS campus, wouldn't I?

Ganjin, I think you are the first one on the internet to use the word "peplum".

It's sort of a scary word, isn't it?
