Sometimes it's the only option...
« on: April 01, 2011, 02:52:25 PM »
Through a series of events, my husband (an Army vet) found himself in the home of a man who has some heavy-duty anti-military views.  He did ok right up until the "baby killer" comments started.

My husband is a man of temper and I am extremely proud that he was able to simply walk away from this blatant insult.

Wow.  :o

Your DH is amazing to have been able to stay silent and walk away from that.

Your hubby did great.  And I appreciate his service to our country.

What have you got? Is it food? Is it for me? I want it whatever it is!

It always puzzles me. If you think someone is a mad-dog killer, why exactly are you insulting them?
My cousin's memoir of love and loneliness while raising a child with multiple disabilities will be out on Amazon soon! Know the Night, by Maria Mutch, has been called "full of hope, light, and companionship for surviving the small hours of the night."

Because you're not a baby, so you're safe.  You're 'man' enough to take them on and win, doncha know?!  Better yet, imo, if somebody is a mad-dog baby killer, why are they in your house in the first place???

Well done sir! It's pretty hard to keep your cool when someone says you murder children, but he did.

I tip my hat.

This confuses me too.  If one genuinely believes that the military are trained to be conscienceless killers, would it not be prudent to be *extremely* polite?

But then you can't point out the error of their ways, as loudly as possible, for all to hear.  OP, your husband showed amazing control.

He did so much better than I would have, really.  I'm glad he didn't sink to their level.

Please give your husband a pat on the back from me for his amazing self control.  And also please thank him for his service to our country!
