Saying "Waffle House" is not the same as saying "The Waffle House on Main Street in Springfield", anyway.
Whether it's pinpointing an individual location is beside the point. It's still maligning a business. I don't think we should continue to use the actual name, but use something general like company y.
It is on the OP to not use the actual name, though, if the name is not the actual name of the place where it happened.
If it is the name of the place where it happened, she is not rude or maligning anyone for reporting a negative experience. Reviews can't all be positive.
And I don't think it is on us to start treating every single poster here like they are lying unless they prove otherwise. So if they say "Waffle House", I'll believe it is Waffle House, and will use that word, because my using it or not has no bearing on the initial post about the negative experience.
But yes, if you're calling out a business that is not even the actual one where you had a terrible experience, that is maligning it. If it is the real name of it, I don't consider it maligning, I consider that holding it accountable.ETA a word I forgot.
