Ooooooh! thanks for posting that! I saw the movie a long time ago & would love to read the book.

I loved both the movie and the book versions of "The Handmaid's Tale". I have two copies of the novel and the DVD of it! It is so well acted and directed! The book allows you to see a little more of the "inside" of the main character, but otherwise the movie is one of the few novel adaptations that really does justice to its source material.

I liked it too.  I thought both were really well done.  Not scary in the traditional "BOO" sense, but scary in the implications.
