Why are Star Trek and ST: the Next Generation in syndication but none of the other variations on Star Trek seem to be?  I would love to see Deep Space Nine every once in a while.

Off the tails of my last nail polish question... (the alcohol trick worked - thank you Dazi! My polish doesn't peel anymore!)

Why is it that my polish keeps getting little bumps or bubbles in it no matter how I apply it? It's not too obvious with my usual favorites, but when I put on a more normal polish, it completely ruins the look.  :-\

You're welcome!

It's from shaking the bottle before applying it.  Try turning it upside down and rolling it between your hands instead.  If that doesn't work, it may be the polish is too thick...sometimes thinning it out a bit with acetone helps.

Hmm, I'll give that a try. I need to pick up some nail polish thinner anyway - my top coat's starting to get extremely gloopy, and a new bottle of this stuff isn't cheap. (Then again, it is a couple years old and maybe I'm better off buying more...I never really did my nails till recently!)

Space here in Canada shows Voyager and has shown DS9, as well as Enterprise.

Nail polish thinner will be better than acetone, since acetone will break down the structure of the polish instead of just thinning it down. Manicurists swear by a few drops of banana oil around here.

They're more rarely run than the two you named, but all of the series are in syndication.  If you can't find them running on a channel you get, you can also stream them on NetFlix, although that costs.

Well, only if I want to watch TV on my computer which I don't want to do.  But I guess that is an option.

If you have a TV that supports it, you can run the video from your computer to the TV.  :D

You can watch DS9 episodes online for free at StarTrek.com

As Diane AKA Traska wrote, you can often use your computer to throw the video to your TV with a cable, so if they're close or your computer is portable that might be a way around it.  Also, NetFlix has apps for all of the major game consoles, so if you have a PlayStation/Wii/XBox, you can do NetFlix that way too.  And of course, you can access startrek.com through these systems too if you don't want to pay for a subscription just for ST.

as for the phlegm question:  I like to drink a mug of warm limeade (or lemonade or orange juice) when I feel congested.  It seems to help.

as for the StarTrek question: I think they have some of the episodes on Hulu for free.

Well, I guess I need to figure out how to watch computer on my TV.  For free, preferably.  I've heard you need a Bluray player but maybe through a cable? I don't own nor want any sort of gaming system.

More technology to learn.  Does anyone know a good place/website to go to learn all this?  I do have a laptop...

Do you have an HDMI port on your computer and TV?  That's the easiest way.

Betelnut, do you have a wireless network at home? If you do, Chromecast is another option. It's $35, and plugs into the HDMI port on your television (plus a power source). It basically just hooks your tv up to your wireless network, and allows you to stream Netflix (plus a few other things) as well as anything on the internet (using the Google Chrome browser). If you don't already own a cord to connect your laptop to your television, Chromecast might end up being about the same price and, depending upon your setup, might be easier to use (since it doesn't require a wired connection from your computer to your television).

Lots of Blueray players have the ability to stream things like Netflix, but there are a lot of other ways to manage it.
