Ok the way I always figured out the breast side was to just think about a body in general.  And then feel for the spine.  Breasts are in front and are squishy and soft, spines are in back and are boney and hard.  Breast side down means boney part up, squishy breasts down. 

If you can manage it (easier with a small bird like a chicken then a big ole turkey) flip it the last 20 minutes of cooking - that way the majority of the cooking was gathering those lovely juices in the breast, but those last 20 minutes of breast side up gets you the lovely golden color.

Silly question but I was curious (but don't know where to look) as to how long after starting taking the pill (as in the oral contraceptive pill - here just saying 'the pill' will have everyone understand) does the secondary effect in the lines of gaining a size or two of bra/bosom start?
I don't know if it varies between compositions of the pill but since most girls mentions gaining a size or two I was curious.

It was just a few weeks for me, but i think i had an extreme reaction to it. Along with the cups i got a pot belly and my body just felt odd, like it wasn't mine. The day i had a full on hysterical cry because - i kid you not - someone ate the last of the tuna fish that i was going to have for lunch i had to stop taking it. I was losing my mind. It's kind of funny to look back on, but at that time not so much.

It's really interesting how differently people can react to different medications. The reason I finally was able to get on birth control (at 18, with my mother's encouragement) was because of the day when my brother asked me where I wanted to go to dinner, and I responded by screaming at him, storming out of the room, and then coming back to cry on my mom's shoulder that I didn't know what was wrong with me. That, and the cramps that knocked me out of commission for at least one day a month. I'm an emotional person by nature, but that was just too much.

As soon as I started taking hormonal birth control, my monthly cycle turned into a mild annoyance that I had to be vaguely aware of, rather than a serious impairment to my ability to function each month. I thank modern medicine on a monthly basis, and I am seriously worried about what will happen when I stop taking birth control because we want to start a family.

I went mental on the pill. Mental. As in suddenly having an almost overwhelming desire to just randomly punch DH in the face, hard and other such extreme events. I had no idea it could have that effect and did a LOT of counselling to try and work out what the heck was WRONG with me. I did learn to control my reactions to those feelings but they never went away. One day another woman told me a story similar to yours and I thought "That's me!" and stopped taking it. Lost 4 kg overnight and the moods just ... went away.

I'm still a bit mad that with all the help I was getting none of the health professionals involved ever, ever mentioned the vague possibility that it could be the pill. OTOH I went similarly mental in early pregnancy (so much so that a friend spotted my pregnancy before me based on my out of character mood) so I guess the training wasn't for nothing.

We can be laying in bed and one of my bad coughing fits hit, and all of a sudden she's running the mattress track, pausing occasionally to paw at my face before racing around, rolling in the blanket and yelping. This i the only time she yelps quite like this, its high pitched and kinda frantic sounding.

It does not stop until I use my inhalor (or pretend to.) Even stopping the coughing makes her keep freaking out.

Depends on what it is.  If it's something that's really more academic knowledge (like how to make a sandwich), it doesn't matter because you're thinking about what you're doing more than how you're doing it. If it's more kinetic - like a golf swing or knitting - it can be pretty confusing when you have ongoing instructions. You can get the initial directions swapped in your head okay, but then you're constantly trying to check your body placement against whomever is teaching you and it can be pretty easy to forget to swap over a step or two - and then it's hard to catch what the problem was 

My DD is left-handed, while the rest of my family is right-handed.  My mother nearly drove herself batty trying to teach herself to knit left-handed so she could teach my DD. As it happened, DD got a knitting book and kit and taught herself to knit right-handed.  Problem solved!

Maybe it's the lack of sleep talking, but i found that touching. What a nice grandmother.

That is really sweet. Sounds like something my stepmom would do. (Not for knitting, but any time *I* fail at learning a craft, stepmom suddenly "remembers" she always wanted to learn that, so she does, then teaches me.)

My stepmom is left handed. I mirrored her to learn to knit. (and I have no idea if I knit left or right handed. The loops move onto my right needle from my left one, so is that right handed?)

Your dog has far more sensitive hearing than you, so she may get stressed when you cough because it is a loud harsh noise for her. She may also think you are distressed, and that upsets her.

Either that or you sound as though you are barking...

At a guess I'd say it's a protective thing. Dog has learnt that when mistress can't breathe the magic device fixes things. Therefore when you can't breathe he's saying "quick everyone! Quick! We need the magic device! AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO CARES HERE, PEOPLE!?"

Not an expert on dog psychology, btw. I'm just basing this on how my usually laid back dog behaves when there are children in the pool. Unless there is an adult near enough for his satisfaction he freaks out.

Seems like it. She's a good girl, even if she gets anxious easily. Lately I've been running fever and either she doesn't like it or she just LOVES ot (I'm her heater?) because she has been right up my tush the whole time. Including "escorting" me to the bathroom and back.

Its almost funny, since my other two dogs are avoiding me and my feverish self. Maybe Bernadette thinks she's my nurse?

Those tendencies are what led us to train our poodle as a service animal - he's cued in to things that most dogs aren't, for some reason. We think it's pretty cool - he can tell to a very fine degree when DP calling "Honey!" is minor, important, urgent, or OMIGAWD!!! Some dogs just have that sixth sense. You might be able to train her to retrieve the inhaler - try giving her an empty one to retrieve (if she will play fetch) and go from there.
