OT but what is pink eye please? I'm guessing conjunctivitis?
I asked a few people but it doesn't seem to be a known word here.
yep, it's conjunctivitis. Sorry - I didn't know "pinkeye" wasn't a common term!
My poor little 2-month-old niece has it in both eyes, too. I was washing my hands like a madwoman today. Not that I don't wash my hands regularly, but I was washing my hands probably double the amount I usually do, and I've been ultra-conscious of having my hands near my eyes, just in case. I don't need anything else to impede my ability to go back to work on January 2nd...
Poor little Sweetpea. I'm still upset at my brother for insisting that she was "OK" ("it's just that the doctor says her tear ducts haven't properly opened up yet") and removing the crust from her eyes with his bare fingers, rather than using a moistened cotton ball or cool washcloth. Then he'd get upset at
me and tell me his germy fingers weren't going to hurt her. Yeah, it didn't hurt her, all right. She has pinkeye, poor baby!
