I got a pair of NB shoes for $6.40. They look like they were worn maybe once.

I'm waiting until the winter and salt season is over before I wear them. The ones I am wearing now are getting wrecked.

Three yards of very heavy duty light pink fabric, perfect for making laundry bags. (I use a laundry bag for my rags and the one I have in falling apart. Imagine that! It is only 46 years old and it is already falling apart!) Time to make a new one.

Yeah - I broke the lid on my 40 year old crock pot and had to find a replacement glass lid of unknown manufacture at the Goodwill - imagine, no replacement lids for sale!

Today DH and I stopped at a Goodwill that we had been at yesterday. A piece of fabric that I wanted, if the price was right, had no tag yesterday and therefore could not be sold. So today we stopped to see if it had been put back on the selling floor. It had and I got a yard and a half of polar fleece for $3.99. Then I used my 25% off coupon and saved a dollar.

Good as that was, it wasn't the buy of the day. That honor goes to the children's books we bought. There were packages of Scholastic books with no price so the manager went back to pricing and then gave them to us at 49 cents a package. We bought 13 packages. There were 98 books in those packages! Less than 7 cents a book! A few (3) are going into my collection. The rest will be donated to classrooms and school libraries. I'm so happy!

A beautiful small flow blue dessert dish, perfect condition, for $6. Plus 2 Japanese porcelain small plates for $1.25 each. Actually they only charged me $7.50 for the whole lot.

A nut grinder and a silverplate butter knife, $1 total.

Large non-stick frypan with glass cover, 25 cents, marked down from $15. I have had my eye one it. This shop marks down to half price after one month and the 25 cents after 2 months.

It's in great condition too.

Wearing a sweater I got during one of the thrift trips. ALthough I sometimes wonder about how things are priced in this one store. Seems to be no rhyme or reason! Today's sweater is a black cotton open cardigan from White House Black Market. Paid 7.99, which is good, considering it probably sold for close to $100.

Yet in the same trip, I snagged (and it might have been a half off color, but I don't recall for sure) a beautiful, looks to be never worn, J. Crew silk dress from their former bridal line. Its a mid calf, ivory dress, and would be perfect for a casual or beach wedding. That was $3. Like i said, might have been $6 to start and half off, but even so, it probably retailed for double what the sweater did, so not sure how or why its was priced less.

Craigslist has been a boon to our upcoming baby. We got a brand new stroller-infant carseat combo in the box because the seller got it for someone who outright refused to have a carseat with red accents for a girl child. Half off the new price because she couldn't return it!
Also:
Free bedside bassinet, changing table and baby gate.
Very cheap infant pillow, pregnancy pillow, baby tub, convertible crib (to toddler and full beds) and play mat/cart seat liner combo.
People still charge a tad more than I'd expect at Salvation Army, but less than a child consignment store would.

My mother asked for some items to use for arts & crafts parts of her kindergarten class at church.  I was able for around $10 purchase some of the things she requested -  multiple rolls and colors of thin ribbons, multiple rolls and colors of crepe paper, and a large package of pipe cleaners at a local thrift store.  Much cheaper than getting the items in a regular store.

Four plants for $3.50! They were $13.50 regular price.

Half of my garden is free or clearance price plants.
