Little Pet Peeves
Venus193:
I'm not sure if there is an etiquette rule connected to this, but I get peevish when people use excessive tape on wrapped gifts. It particularly annoys me when that starts with taping the paper to the item itself. This makes the gift harder to unwrap and if the item isn't shrink-wrapped, the tape can ruin it. This happened with two items I received from my best friend this year.
What are your minor-league pet peeves?

People who say "I could care less". No, you COULDN'T, COULDN'T care less! If you could care less, then you still are concerned and have a lotmore caring to go. If you honestly aren't bothered than you "couldn't". It drives me nutty.

Hmm - well then you wouldn't want gifts from my DH (haha) - about 1/2 the roll of tape is used on each gift, and about twice as much paper as actually needed. But I actually think it is cute when he does it. And every gift is in a box so the tape never ruins the actual item.
I get annoyed when I say a phrase/cliche and someone tells me they hate that saying. If I'm saying it incorrectly (as mentioned by Lunadiana) then you can correct me by all means, but once I said "It is what it is" about some situation we were stuck with at work and a coworker turned to me and started going off about how he hated when people use that phrase, it's so stupid, it means nothing, etc. Well, um, I just said it and really, as long as I'm using the correct phrase and it is not offensive to anyone, just shut the "blank" up and don't tell me that what I said is stupid. That's just mean.

People who say "Foo Pas" instead of "Faux Pas."
