Posting pictures tutorial (very image heavy)

(1/3) > >>

The Opinionator:
I mentioned in the 'The Person Below Me' thread that I was going to do a photo tutorial on how to post pictures. Ta-da! This post is going to deal with posting pictures from a google account (using PicasaWeb), since I figured most people already have one. I'll do one for Photobucket later/tomorrow, depending on my studying schedule and possibly a Flickr one as as well if anyone interested. I'm trying to err on the side of giving too many details, so apologies for the million steps (and if something's not clear, I'll happily try to explain.).

Step 1: Go to Google and select sign in in the top right hand corner.

Step 2: Either log in to your account or create a new one.

Step 3: Once you're logged in, look at the top menu and click on 'more' then select 'even more' at the bottom of the drop down menu.

Step 4: Your page should look something like the one below. Click on Picasa.

Step 5: This now opens Picasa. You can download it on your computer and have a play. However, that's not relevant to this tutorial, so click on Picasa Web Albums.

Step 6: You'll now be in your albums home. Click upload.

Step 7: A wild pop up appears  ;D! Name your album whatever you want and click continue (or alternatively select one of your existing albums by clicking 'choose an existing album').

Step 8: Your page will look like this. Click 'choose photos to upload'.

Step 9: This will open a window with your computer's picture folder. Either select pictures from there or navigate somewhere else. You can choose one or more pictures. Click open.

Step 10: Wait until the pictures are uploaded, then click 'ok' (or upload more if you want  ;D).

Step 11: After you click ok, your album will appear on screen. Click on the picture you want to upload (I forgot to screenshot that step). Look on the right bar and click on 'Link to this photo'. This will bring more options. Select the size you want (400 or 640 works best for forums), tick the 'image only(no link)' checkbox and copy the link in the box that says 'Embed image'.

Step 12: Come back to eHell, start a new thread or reply to an old one. To post the picture, your code should look like this [ img ] your link here [ /img ], only without the spaces. Here's an example.

Step 13. Click post  ;).

Done  ;D.

Nibsey:
You're my hero. Thank you sooooo much for taking the time to do this.

I was told how to do this by another poster but it took me so long to figure it out even with awesome instructions and then I tend to forget how to do it, so this is a godsend.  :-[

happygrrl:
AWESOME!!!

At last, something I can understand!!

Thank you so much for doing this!

The Opinionator:
You're welcome  :D. Just goes to show I'll do anything in an attempt to avoid studying  ;D.

Betelnut:
Test.  Hey it works.  This is a picture of my daughter at the zoo this Mother's day.
