Address Lables - good or bad??

I prefer a handwritten address on things, but I like using printed labels or envelopes with our return address.  This year I wrote both the address and the return address on all our Christmas cards, but that's because I didn't feel like digging through boxes to find my labels and I spend a few evenings on the cards anyway so a little extra work was fine with me.

I'll agree with the others though, I don't care much for the preprinted cards.  A mailing label doesn't bother me too much, but combined with a preprinted card...they just seem too impersonal.  I love including a few notes in every card to wish people well and I'd almost rather not receive anything in return than get an automated response.  Those picture cards of kids or pets are cute and I enjoy them, but please include a little sticky note or something on the back of the card!

Thanks; I'll have to look out for those. Art and craft stores are very thin on the ground here.

You're more likely to find them at an office supply store or stationers or computer store.

I've never received a card or letter that didn't use printed address labels. What is this, the 19th century? 

I make my own, but since I can't figure out how to print labels on my computer, I just print them on paper and paste them on with Pritt. I like to make my own because them I can have a picture and a slogan like, "I'd rather be watching Stargate Atlantis."

Quick off-topic reply for T'Mar...  I also have trouble getting those little labels to line up in my printers.  I just bought some of those full-sheet sticky labels by Avery, printed out a page that I had formatted to have my address repeated over and over (with even a fancy initial for decoration), and cut them out.  You don't have to apply glue, although it can be tricky removing the backing if you don't have long nails.

TIP:

If you hold your scissors at an agle when making your cuts it makes removing the backing much easier. the backing will be slightly bigger or smaller (depending on the angle of the scissors) than the sticky part, giving you a little something you can 'peel'
